I'd like an Ultimates adaptation actually. They have Black Panther, Carol, they can introduce Monica in Captain Marvel and maybe Adam Brashear too. They can put Doctor Strange on the team instead of Miss America for the dimension hopping powers.

It would be a more serious counterpart to GotG in the cosmic MCU. I doubt it would happen however, mostly because it's so high concept and I'm not sure the general audience would respond well to all those abstract entities. They also don't have the rights to Galactus.

She's a very good actress (seriously, go watch Martha Marcy May Marlene), but I can't help cringing when she starts talking. Just have her drop it in Infinity War and say that she got some linguistics lessons while on the run from the Accords, I don't care. As for the writing, I think both Whedon and Markus&McFeely did a pretty good job with her. Certainly better than anything she got in the comics in a long, long time.

Even 5 years ago if you'd told anyone she would be an important Marvel character again, let alone an Avenger in the movies, it would have sounded like a pipe dream after years of her being banned from comics and only used on TV as Magneto's daughter in X-Men cartoons.

I think she has the potential to be a good character but she's had relatively little screen time and a lot of that in Avengers: Age of Ultron was as a semi-villain, so it's hard to know what she and the filmmakers are planning to do with the character. Civil War at least suggested the new team is interested in her and her relationship with Vision.

But I agree the accent needs to go. Joss Whedon has a thing for ridiculous accents. It was toned down in Civil War and she should just drop it now.

Anecdotal, but my casual friends all liked Doctor Strange much more than I did. Even disregarding that looking at the audience score on both Metacritic and RT, it seems like people enjoyed it fine. It's also the highest MCU solo debut at the box office.

5 years ago Wanda and Vision had just returned to the comics after years away, both were left off the expanded Avengers roster (Wanda was on the disastrous "unity squad" and Vision made it into an A.I. themed team). They're nowhere to be found in the Hickman run this is referencing.

To be honest, even if superhero movie don't have the "wow" factor like they once did for me (I don't think I'll ever be as hyped for something as I was for Avengers...maybe Infinity War will come close), I still think they're quite enjoyable blockbusters. I don't see all of them in cinemas (I skipped Fant4stic and Apocalypse for example), so 4-5 superhero movies a year are not that many when you think about it.

I think we're getting fatigued because we follow the news about them all year. If we just watched the trailer and went to the movie like all casuals do we wouldn't feel sick about them. Reading all the interviews, looking at set pics and watching TV spot #46 will do that to you.
