The world building is interesting, and watching a company that didn't know what they were making evolve is neat to watch.

It's easy to see how bad it is in the first season and second season but I enjoyed it because it fueled my weapon boner. In season 3 the writing takes a major step up and production quality increases outside of most fight scenes. In season 4 there is only 2 fights worth rewatching and the whole season is a setup for the next, so yeah its good but only if you enjoy it.

It's pretty cringey and arguably clumsily executed, but grows on you over time. The fight choreography is great, but gets noticeably poorer without Monty and Shane, though everything else kind of improves.

Expect to like the deuteragonist teammates better than the protagonist teammates.

It's weird. At first I was like "god, this looks dumb." But then it became something of a guilty pleasure. I mentioned it to my sister, and she looked at it and was like "god, this looks dumb," but then later she admitted she got hooked too and marathoned the whole thing.

It's barely decent, the animation improves and facial expressions are way better, but anatomy for characters can be fucked, the shading can look awkward, the grimm fights are ass, everything feels floaty and slow, and four separate stories along with side characters stories over 12 episodes that are around 10-15 minutes made everything clunky as hell

I have to say that i was pretty underwhelmed by the first season, but i started watching a lot of Rooster Teeth stuff because of it, I slowly became a fan of the company so i gave season two a try and enjoyed it though still thought it was kinda wonky, season three is probably where i legit loved it.

Not him, but it was under par in comparison to the early grimm fights. I liked the nuck, but even back in Vol 1 the fights against large grimm were a lot better e.g. RWBY and JNPR vs the deathstalker and nevermore, and Ren fighting the taijitu.

The non-fighting animation has improved immensely, but it seems that no one on their team aside from Monty and Shane knew how fighters move.

they definitely need to fix the shading seeing as chins disappear pretty easy, need to work on torso anatomy so that the arms connect correctly instead of looking like awkward tubes attached to a torso, most models suffer from this issue

Some models also have off eyes and heads that are too big, some necks break on the models when turning too, I think it's mainly just them having to get used to working with Maya while also having to get episodes out, I have higher hopes for V5

While I was certain that Qrow wasnt going to get killed off, I wasnt totally sure they wouldnt kill off Tyrian, because it is absolutely a common trope for the evil leader to kill of those who have failed them that early, I was very happy to see that they didnt kill him off, but I understand where some people are coming from.
