>Came and went despite critical acclaim
>Didn't do Deadpool numbers
>Grossed about the same as Apocalypse
>End of an era for early capeshit icons(Wolverine the character, Hugh Jackman, and Patrick Stewart)
Is this the beginning of the end for capeshit?
Deadpool was a fluke.

I mean, was it? Deadpool was a pretty popular character with casuals way before the movie and there was plenty of interest for a proper Deadpool after the abortion in Origins.
Then they got a decent script and actors that worked and made a good movie. Not too surprising it pulled the numbers it had in the end.

If it was PG, I agree, but it still did those numbers with an R rating. That was the real take away.

Nah, it's going to do better, even if not quite Deadpool. Plus, this movie had a much lower budget than Apocalypse ($60-80 million less) so it's taking a bigger haul. For a hard R film, that's pretty good.

What people on this site even WANT?
It's like you act as if any movie that isn't as talked about as Star Wars is just forgotten and worthless.
Has any movie of the last 20 years even reaching this weird Standart of being "positively talked and discussed everywhere forever" that /tv/ demands?

Wasn't most of that just dick sucking for Jackman since he was leaving after 18 years?
