I liked him. He was pretty generic "fat silly friend" fodder, but I liked how they gave him a story and you see him grow.

Claire is the only major character I don't like, but even then she's not horrendous, just surprisingly dull for such a colorful show.

He was fairly bland and generic for most of the series, and he makes infuriating decisions in the latter half of the series.

I also don't see why we had to sympathize with Strickler. Ever near the end, he was okay with Jim's mom dying so he could keep his powers. Then he is semi-forced into helping her and that suddenly redeems him? Also, why was she the one that forgot about Jim, but not him?

Jim was a nice balance between noble and flawed.

Strickler was mostly just trying to look out for his people. He was worried about saving Jim's mom because all signs pointing to him dying if he did.
