Do you honestly think at that day and age when that episode aired that the creators and producers were absolutely without a doubt thinking, "Yes he absolutely killed these people in our children cartoon meant for children, we didn't do the classic thing all action shows geared towards children do and just make it look like they were knocked out with no blood in sight, we even had their bodies in full view instead of silhouettes like we did with the crucified dogs in episode 2 to further emphasize the fact that they were knocked out not dead."

Lame. My thoughts played with the fact that Jack was a one man robot holocaust and the entire town feared him like he was some inhuman monster, but he still feels the need to protect them from some threat. Perhaps only one robot trusts him.

Maybe at episode's end his robot ally gets destroyed, has some last words, but his death is blamed on Jack by the villagers, and they still don't trust him as he has to walk away sadly.

lots of otherwise deadly stuff (i.e. explosives) is not so deadly in SJ, the show wasn't allowed to show Jack killing humans so any "deaths" like the BH were going to be ambiguous, and the ending of that episode was particularly ambiguous anyway, yeah it's a cool ending that you can take however you want but if word of God says it's not ambiguous anymore then just listen
