I have a theory to explain the massive blood loss Jack sustained during the last episode. I believe that the time travel has something to do with it. Jack stopped aging, and for that to occur his cells must multiply at an accelerated rate to keep him young like that. I think Jack has a healing factor. Not as powerful as Wolverine, but more like Captain America's. He can regenerate superficial cuts in a matter of minutes, and can recuperate from more severe wounds such as gunshots in days. That makes sense with what we've been shown; Jack healing a nice to the side in a few days with barely any medical treatment and healing some cuts during in the fight between shots.
Just a theory, don't take it too seriously.
>>91078850
You know what you need
To fucking neck yourself
Jack didn't bleed out because the knife stayed in the wound.
He healed fast because a magic wolf healed him with Steven Universe spit.
If we had to take the massive amount of blood in the water as anything other than artistic choice, then yeah, I'd say he has a mild healing factor.
>>91078850
we actually do, no sarcasm you cunt
im loving every last one of these threads as well as this one, problem?
want me to dump the last chapter of the comic book series? its technically non-canon now but still pretty good
>>91078887
Why is Jack fighting old 70s/80s Super Robots?
>>91078836
I thought it was more like a Kill Bill thing. Endless blood with no logic behind it.
>>91078916
something something time portal that was actually yet another aku trap. teams up with a sentai team that lasts all of three pages before they sacrifice themselves to destroy the hordes of robots around them.
>>91078975
Looks like Mazinger there in the middle.
>>91078836
He's not actually bleeding that much. Blood retains a rather vivid color even after dilution which creates the appearance of greater blood loss when it comes in contact with water. While you are right about Jack healing the knife wound unrealistically (given the angle of the wound he should have a perforated intestine), quit being so fucking nitpicky about a goddamn action show.
>>91078872
Would still be a deadly amount of bloodloss in that timeframe. Plus the part where he pulled the knife and just passed out with the wound open, should have killed him.
>>91078916
Same reason the guardian was.
Late-night storytime! >>91078887
>>91078836
It was grossly exaggerated to make a point.
He didn't lose a FUCKTON of blood, jsut a large amount.
>>91078836
My theory is that it's a cartoon and certain things don't work or reflect themselves as they would in real life.
>>91078836
i don't think you guys get how much blood dilutes
>>91078872
>Steven Universe spit
Kek
a. water dilutes blood
b. its a cartoon
c. it looked cool and communicated the point
d. it was the same blood
e. you are a colossal faggot and you should kill yourself
pick any or all of the above but e is mandatory.

>honk honk
Just wanted to say that tonight, all these threads inspired me to finally watch Samurai Jack for the first time.
I didn't really follow it back when it was originally airing (For whatever reason), but now I really regret that decision. The visuals are goddamn gorgeous, and the amount of storytelling not done through dialogue is very surprising and welcome.
I have a long way to go to get caught up, but I have a feeling it's going to be worth it.
>>91079588
>jack didn't put a pillow over the totoro thing's face while it slept offscreen until it died
>>91078836
I'd like clarity, but I don't think we need it.
I can understand why Genndy would avoid it too.
If he straight up said Jack can either heal at an accelerated rate or heals at a regular rate but cannot die from minor wounds then people might lose tension from any later fights.
>>91078836
>going back in time weakens him to the point where he cannot kill aku
>defeating aku in the future made a difference to all those living there
>>91079635
>AYE, JACK, TELL HIM ABOOT TH' TIME WE WERE TURNED INTO BONNIE LASSES!
>AND I WERE THE BETTER-LOOKIN'!
Non-canon, but an incredibly satisfying ending I believe.
Zub's a nice guy. Wish Marvel would stick him on a non-ensemble book.
>>91079667
caaaaan do!
>>91079677
Shame it isn't canon. I mean, it could fit, it'd just be... you know... a failed attack. A horrible failure.
Then again, I highly doubt Jack would run away, nor would the Scotsman.
>>91079719
Genndy says the whole Zub series is noncanon, but I find that unnecessary besides that last issue. On the other hand, Quest for the Broken Blade was mentioned as something he wanted to adapt for the finale film, only for it to be extended for the new season.
>>91079753
It'd be nice if we get a character named Zub, just as a wink/nod.
>>91079753
Time will tell if elements from the comic will be explored in the final season.
This is now a waifu thread.
This is the future you chose.

Sounds like a noodle incident we missed.
>>91079884
>>91079890
Jack, how do you know what leprechauns are but NOT know that you never make deals with fairies?
I've got an explanation
Samurai jack is a show that puts narrative and it's impressionistic visual style before strict realism.
That's it, that's the theory. What do you guys think?
>>91079909
Jack is incredibly weak to tricks and lies. Like laughably so.
>>91079945
He's just so trusting
>>91079969
Scotsman, for god's sake.
>>91079804
To be fair, this is probably not the strangest thing he's seen.
>>91078872
Fun fact, Wolf/dog saliva acts as an antiseptic.

I also have a theory. He's a fucking cartoon character.
>>91080111
>kill yourself my man Jack in the upper right
>>91080128
Dear God, you're right.
>>91080022
That's a thing? I was actually bothered because I thought it was stupid that Jack healed with a tree branch and a bone, that shit would get infected.
>>91080134
Oh yeah. Wound licking is an instinct many mammals - including humans - have.
The mud-based poultice has real historical basis, too.
>>91078836
I have a better theory.
He is Jesus.
>you don't know jack's real name
>looks like Jesus
>he fight evil
>revives after fatal blood loss.
The proofs are there
Jack=Jesus Christ.
>>91080181
But Jesus wasn't japanese
>>91080181
Im glad that's shitposting but i know there's someone out there that actually believe that's true
>>91080190
There is not a single historical correct portrait of him, all portraits of him were made hundreds of years after his "death"
Jesus could had been Japanese.
>>91080190

>>91080230
Did the Catholic Church did this to convert Nippon, or just Japanese people invented trolling?
>>91080230
>Isukiri casually took Christ's place
no big deal
>>91080314
*unzips martyrdom*
>>91080288
Christianity was persecuted for centuries in Japan. This led the converted Japs who were for this time largely without the leadership of any Christian denomination to develop very odd beliefs and practices.
It's kind of cool, tell me this Saint isn't baller.
>>91078836
>his cells must multiply at an accelerated rate to keep him young like that.
that would make him age faster because his telemeres would be shortening faster than normal
you need to bypass the hayflick limit while somehow being immune to cancer
>Worrying about bloodloss
>When you're just like a samurai
Up to finding the cave he was really bleeding. From then on the excessive blood was a visual effect, I guess to draw a connection with the white wolf? Notice how Jack was suddenly covered in scratches and bleeding from his head down.
>>91081778
The excessive blood was likely to show how low and desperate Jack had fallen, he was no longer a proud, skilled samurai, he was a bloody, scared, bearded loon, scraping out a living in a musty old cave, bleeding out on himself. As soon as the wolf appeared, it cleared Jack's head, and the very first t hing he does is make a makeshift needle and thread to sew his wound up.
>>91081564
Is that a crucifix sword?
>>91080134
I think even human saliva also has (really mild) antibacterial effects because of enzymes or some shit. Probably not a good idea to be spitting on your cuts anyway, though
>>91078836

>>91081845
Dogs have cleaner mouths than humans due to the spacing in their teeth, so it's actually not a bad idea to have a dog lick your wound if you don't have a better option
>>91081899
I think that's an old myth, considering the amount of bacteria in a dog's mouth compared to a human when dogs will lick anything like feces or their own genitals.
>>91081899
>>91081963
Yes and no. They don't have the cleanest mouths, true, but their mouths aren't a danger to humans either...unless of course they're biting you.
>>91080038
Lauren Tom and Tress Macneille.
Dunno who else you could get.
>>91078836
It's just a cartoon.
Why Aku can't throw Jack even further into the future? Every couple of thousand years he can just do the same trick and rule the world forever.
>>91082234
Using the same trick twice is fucking boring, that's why.
The comic book is generally pretty close to the original run of the series in tone, but that gender swap one really went off the rails.
When I first heard they were making more SJ I was kind of upset, I liked the ending of the comic, it honestly made me pretty happy, as it happens the new series is excellent, so that's not a problem, but it's was still a good ending. Jack making peace with his new lot in life and trying to save what could still be saved rather than trying to return to the past, it hit just the right more of ambiguity and bittersweetness to work for me.
>>91078836
Blood mixed with anything water based makes it look much worse than it is.
Realistically, he suffered blood loss, but not as severe as you would think, as te water would spread the blood out, making a thin layer

Obviously Jack took an Islam propelled truck to his side.
>>91078836
Alright all these threads only lead me to the conclusion that Samurai Jack is NOT the show for /co/. You morons have this bizarre need for everything to be literal, as if you don't understand stylistic choices and art.
It's a cartoon.
Or it's just a cartoon and you're overthinking it. Genndy doesn't do extra animation for MUH DEEPEST LORE or MUH PLOT CLUES, he does it because lots of blood looks badass gross and unsettling. He's a visual director--he honestly couldn't care two shits about the plot. That's why the plot hasn't advanced in three episodes.
Which is fine, because again. It's a cartoon, not fucking House of Leaves.
