Most straight relationships in comics and cartoons are 98% forced -- that the two are together only because one has a pussy and the other a dick. Like, why do they even have to get together? Why has almost every modern cartoon tried to push hetshit into their series? DOES Marco, Lincoln, et cetera need to have girlfriends or be girl crazy? Is it that hard to write a series without romance?

I also hate it when people immediately ship a male and female character purely because they're male and female. For example, Jack and Ashi. Yet when you say you ship two male characters together, you're immediately bombarded with insults and asking "Why can't they just stay friends?!" Like, do they not realize how hypocritical they're being or is shipping only a problem when it's between men?

I partially got into comic books because of Linkara, but after a few years I realized how much of a hack he is.

I genuinely believe Fantagraphics/TCJ is cancer on the medium the same way pretentious hipsters ruin science fiction literature.

I think the majority of comics that came out after the eighties are objectively better than earlier ones. They read better, have better art, and anyone who disagrees either have nostalgia goggles on or they are fucking fake-nostalgia hipsters. Also the decompressed cinematic style (aka manga influence) saved the medium wether you like it or not.

Seems to be a shipping confession thread? I do like shipping, but I hate it when people take it seriously. Just people drawing funny pictures of all the characters on the show dating all the other characters or cranking out stories, even terrible ones, for fun or talking about what would happen if X dated Z character is fine. But when people get obsessive it's like nails on a chalkboard since the characters are not real and I don't understand caring about their non-existent love lives or who ends up with who. Basically I understand the "playing with dolls" part and not the making it a big focus of the canon or getting invested at all unless it's a romance novel.
