Several of the old time radio streams I listen to like to play episodes of Gunsmoke. Never knew there was a comic, but it makes sense. Radio, TV, and why not comics. I've always found it interesting how cowboys and the old west used to be so popular but kids these days couldn't seem to give less of a shit. At least the hats are still popular, I guess? In the south, anyway.

The Sentinel... Reminds me of the Daily Sentinel, run by owner and publisher Britt Reid, otherwise The Green Hornet. He has his own interesting family history namely that his great-uncle is none other than The Lone Ranger. In fact Britt's father, Dan Reid Jr., shows up in the Long Ranger stories. No huge shocker, they were created by the same man and the Hornet is pretty much a more modern version of The Lone Ranger. A masked man on the side of justice, often considered an outlaw. One has a Native American sidekick, the other a Japanese (later Filipino after Pearl Harbor) sidekick. Both of them got shitty movies a few years ago...
