The entire point of the episode was to make Jack kill one of them but at the same time show that he is no match for their combined strenght. He could have kill one of them in mid fight but in 1v1 it was more impactful.

She was handily defeated before her throat was sliced. She got knocked in the head so hard that her mask cracked.

This is a girl that was abused mentally and physically from birth, and was only fighting Jack because of brainwashing and indoctrinated lies. She wasn't evil, she was a corrupted innocent.

Jack could have defeated her without killing her, and probably would have if he'd known more about the situation.

People shouldn't be defending this murder. It was unfortunate and tragic, and completely avoidable.

Chiefly this. Jack's folly was a lack of concentration and being distracted by his overall situation.

He only noticed the trip wire at the last second and only started scanning for other threats and traps when he was in mid-air, by that point the sisters had already planned out how they were going to hide and run a train on him before he'd even landed.

When he touched ground he hadn't even drawn Scaramouche's vibroblade to defend himself and all his other weapons were scattered, so they got double initiative off a simple ambush. While two or three were attacking Jack directly to injure or occupy him the others either stole or broke his gear to make sure he remained at a disadvantage.

By the time he got to cover they'd already reduced his options for escape and retaliation to zero.

Anyway, once he takes one of them on solo he's shown to be capable of keeping up with her and even counters effectively, but he was still panicking since he basically had a fucking broom handle for defense and she had a sword, which she used to break said handle. He went for a risky disarm before bad got worse and she put a knife in him. Still, he managed to turn the tables despite all of that so it goes to show how capable he is sword or no.

With his sword I'm not sure if he would have had all that earlier gear but he would likely have at least been more focused from the very start to not let them get the drop on him before he draws.

To directly answer your question though, OP, his biggest issue would mostly be their range and numbers. The Kusarigama and spear specifically. In the preview for the next episode he seems to go for the one with the Kanabo first likely because it's the most nonlethal, relatively speaking. Plus it would help him defend against the other weapons if he gets it.

They'll be fighting on his terms either way so we'll see how slick they are without the advantage of preemptive strike.

Why do people think the "just nuts and bolts" has anything to do with Jack's willingness to kill? It's a comment about how he survives and lives on due to his human spirit while mowing down Aku's machines.
