It really is that shit. Even worse than Strikes Back, and that's saying something. It's still two painful issues off even completion.

The irony is that there's that great chicken and egg discussion in the original where Gordon and the new Commissioner are talking about Pearl Harbor, and Gordon is trying to talk about how it relates to superheros but Yendel doesn't get it. In this book, it's a step back because there's none of that great texture anymore but the Heros just happen to be fuckups.

Master Race isn't Miller's fault: it's barely even his work. (The scab-hack Azzarello is the actual writer -- Miller actually says as much in the official DC publicity interview for it, and they actually left that part in!)

Miller does those little back-up stories and occasional cover art, both of which at least have a little personality to them.

Miller was promising/threatening a greater hand over DK IV, but at the rate DK III is coming out, who even knows if that will happen at all.
