By "the new Garfield", I meant "that awful show that's cool to hate and everyone bashes to be one of the cool kids", not "that mediocre show that's being ironically resurrected thanks to dank memes".

Seriously, I did like the Vegas episode, as well as the bank vault one, which some people also call a low point.

I still watch it, but it's more of out of habit than anything.

I rarely, if ever, laugh at new episodes. Even when I know they're intending that I laugh.

If /co/ in the last few years is any indication, Family Guy is a much better example of that than Garfield. Like when people here want to make a comparison to something bad but they can't think of something more clever than "shit", they'll say "this is the Family Guy of X".

I haven't watched FG in a long ass while, don't really hate it, just don't keep up with new eps of pretty much anything.

Family Guy more-or-less represents mainstream American thought. Hence why it's syndicated so heavily.

And mainstream American thought is pretty much fucked.

This Doe was decent and had its funny moments back in its early seasons, but its material has gotten so old that it has to push the offensive humor to get any attention. I love a good dark joke but Family Guy sucks at it, while also having jumbled episonic plots that just make me wanna leave the room.
