Here is the timeline solution: since the impossible summer lasted for 4+ years, the technological progress during that summer also developed as if several years have passed. Everyone had flip phones in May but already had smartphones by September. That's why MML looks like it takes place years after the early PnF episodes.

In the end of the day, in this universe two school kids can in three hours create things that take decades for hundreds of designers, builders and technicians to make, so overthinking the time placement is retarded and we should find other ways to waste our time.

So like, is the stuff with these time travelers going to actually go somewhere? Cause their shtick ain't really doing it for me. His luck was actually extreme in both ways.

He was the Ultimate Lucky Student, neither good or bad, but that meant his luck went both ways. His convoluted schemes always came through without a hitch, but also he suffered pretty badly on occasion.

In the prequel he wins a free trip around the world, only to have the plane crash in the desert. Everybody died except for him, but the plane crashed near an oasis which helped him survive.

The above event was more of a side gag, implying this type of thing happens to him pretty often. Even in the main game, he gets pretty far relying on luck. Even when he dies, he still manages to out the traitor completely by chance by having the traitor accidentally kill him without knowing, thus having the traitor executed.

I saw a random episode of this and it was pretty funny. The lack of structure lets them pull off a lot of great visual jokes and poke fun at cliches.
