If you condition them to only see the show for its dramatic episodes, you're setting them up for the inevitable disappointment when they dump out less important episodes each season while moving the plot bit by bit in other episodes.

If they can't stomach the goofy episodes of s1, then they're better off sticking to something that isn't a dumb kid's show.
