I don't get this. They established in The Incredible Hulk, it's based on his heart rate for whether or not he turns into Hulk. And they've kept it as canon because new actor Hulk talks about how he destroyed Harlem. So even if he's always secretly angry in his head, how the hell does Bruce elevate his heart rate so incredibly fast than the transformation is instantaneous? It goes beyond controlling your heart rate, the mother fucker literally hit the gas pedal like he was a car.

Correlation =/= causation. A high heart rate isn't the trigger that turns him into the Hulk, his anger does. Heart rate is an indirect way to measure his anger. Once he gained the ability to control his anger the heart rate was no longer relevant.

You're got it wrong

It's not like his Hulk form is Super Saiyan and he can turn it on and off whenever he wants, it's that he can USUALLY control his anger - and so can voluntarily unleash the beast.

But the anger is so much that sometimes he CAN'T control it and so INVOLUNTARILY unleashes the beast.

Basically it's like a pressure valve.

It's just like ejaculation. When you're young, you blow your load super easy, then maybe you start to think about baseball or whatever to delay it, then eventually you become familiar with the feeling that warns you that you're about to burst and you learn to relax and stop yourself. You can be at the edge for ages and just reel yourself back in when you need to, constantly ready to blow, and at any point there you can just stop restraining yourself and let loose.
