She's needs time to retreat, and depressed people aren't very proactive. Peridot keeps her entertained and doing stuff while still allowing her to chill and not do anything. It's a balance of keeping her mind off things and still having time and space to reflect if she wants to. It's comfortable. I don't think she would want to go off into the world and be alone with her thoughts, and I don't think it would be wise. Imagine Lapis having a breakdown without anyone to comfort her or stop her from flooding a city

Raven is just a shit @ using the model sheets. From what we've seen w/ Peridot, Jeff, Colin, Zuke, Hillary, Lamar, and Katie all board her with the correct proportions (only Lamar is off, with her hair being too big). Hell, in "Gem Drill", "Earthlings", and certain parts of TNCG and their half of "Gem Harvest", she looks perfectly fine too, so I don't know what to believe.

Part of me honestly thinks that Rough Draft is mauling the storyboards when they do the in-betweens. Remember that comparison shot between Hillary's board of Lapis turning her head in "Barn Mates" and the final result? I wouldn't be surprised if they're pretty much redoing most of the boards shoddily on purpose, maybe bc CN wanted more episodes faster. idk. I just find it hard to believe that in all of their SMIP episodes, Paul and Raven suddenly shape up, while in every Rough Draft episode they're completely shit.
