ITT: video games that would make great animated series

Ah, what could have been.

I recall hearing that this was supposed to be one of the episodes, if not the pilot to, a proper animated series for TF2. But I guess something happened in the pipeline and it just wasn't feasible or a financially secure idea anymore. On top of the Engineer's Voice actor getting throat cancer necessitating the Soldier's actor to do most of his lines in that short.

But man, the writing was so on point. I'd love for even just a miniseries to come out at some point, but TF2 might be too "old" for it now.

Considering how popular raunchy adult cartoons are in the west thanks to South Park and Family Guy, I'm surprised that it didn't become a cartoon.

It'd be good but only if it had the really dark nihilistic undertone that the game would later build up. It'd basically be an odd mix of South Park, Happy Tree Friends and Bojack Horseman.

I like Undertale but there's no way it'd work as a show. The face value generic plot is meant to be an illusion hiding it's initial point before relieving it's meant to be a general analysis of the JRPG genre and the fact that the story progressively alters depending on replay value. Take that away and you got a generic story with mediocre characters.

Honestly the fact that the story just simply cannot be retold in any other medium aside vidya is what makes me like it so much despite it being a tad bit overrated in general by the public.

Quite simply, Adult Swim heard about Valve time. The time and money it would take to make Shorts of the quality Valve comes out with would take too long and cost a little more than what Adult Swim would like. So a pilot it remains.

I mean FFS The REGULAR comics take about a year just for an issue to COME FUCKING OUT.

An episodic, Blackadder-esque series that focuses on a small-time count who keeps getting caught up in the shenanigans of the world around him as things get increasingly silly, poking fun at both historical events and the patented """Believable Worlds""" that inevitably happen in the games. Most importantly, the head hitboxes would actually be beside where the model heads would be, and the legs hotboxes would be walking in the perpendicular direction from what you'd actually be walking.

The bug had been in the game since its launch in 2007.

I don't think they've ever once explained the RED BLU dynamic, or in-game circumstances like multiple copies of the same class existing at the same time in the comics. They're just a team of mercenaries (usually dressed as the RED team). Who did they fight prior to Gray Mann in the comics? Don't think it was even touched on.

As badly as I want more X or Legends, the most logical course of action for Capcom this late would probably be an entire new branch of the franchise. A new ground level for new fans to be in at. I really want the new cartoon to be good, and I'm not optimistic by the synopsis.

Well I don't think it would make a very good serious show. Or relateable with you guys since the consensus on 4chan usually seems to be "blizzurd gaymes succ xDD" even though their quality far surpasses any other company on the market, though that's besides the point. My favorite game Heroes of the Storm could probably make a decent TTG type show. There are Carbot shorts but meh.

Valve and adult swim had greenlit something about 12 episodes with 22 minutes.
After the deadline, Valve only managed to produce one episode and it wasn't even finished. It was 7 minutes too short.

I get the feeling that the usual Behemoth atmosphere has yet to hit the surface of the video game, much like how an asteroid has yet to collide with our planet and smash it to kablooms, killing mill-thousands of innocent baby polar bears and also polar bear mommas.

I don't like your opinion, and in fact I think you are some kind of weird fellow who probably wears bags for shoes and eats dirt sandwiches." Well, you might be true about wearing bags for shoes, and a dirt sandwich tastes delicious with a little bit of mayonaisse, but my opinion should matter in this event. Because it is the whimsy that drew me to The Behemoth, and without an exordinate amount of whimsy, I simply feel a whimsy sized hole in my whimsyless heart. And then I die because that is a medical disorder and then when I go to heaven God will say "Wow that was dumb."

Undertale worked as a self-contained story. More pertinently it's a case of needing to realise that a game is already in its ideal medium for what it's trying to do and trying to adapt it to something else would result in the IP suffering for it.

i appreciate that they were trying something new with zelda 2 but there's so many shitty design choices (mainly in the overworld navigation and progression, plus one particular dungeon mechanic) that it's a very good example of a lot of shit we don't use in video games any more, and for good reason

just make an animated re-imagining of both of the games, (hell, maybe wait until 3 comes out, idk), it would be the greatest thing ever, and maybe even help with some character development with some of the characters, like maybe an episode with travis and henry going on an assassination mission together, or maybe an epsidoe focusing on some of the side characters, like one focusing on travis's old dead master, or Naomi, we barley know shit about her. Dude, this shit legitimatley has alot of potential.

I've been really disappointed with their cast editions lately. Seems like every new character is just an animal. Kind of sucks the fun out of the sci-fi setting when you do that.
