Yeah, while Stan took too much credit for Marvel creations, that doesn't mean he didn't do any work. He was a good editor who made sure that Kirby and Ditko would produce quality stuff. Compare Ditko's Marvel work to his work after, and there's a sharp decrease in good storytelling. And Kirby's work like the New Gods is still plagued by some dumb ideas like the Newsboy Legion. While Kirby and Ditko were the geniuses behind Marvel's Silver Age, Lee was the one who kept them in shape.
