To be fair, there's really nothing wrong with that. Design is arbitrary. The design sheet is only for keeping things consistent within the show. (Granted, they failed at this.)

As far as I'm concerned, PPG and nuPPG are two separate shows, best kept very far apart. They can redesign it however they want.

I didn't say the boarders were bad or untalented, I said the storyboards were sloppy. There's a big difference there.

Storyboards give direction, and since they're working with an inexperienced overseas studio, they need to give more direction. They can't expect the animators to fill in the missing pieces, or to do much interpreting of the boards. That's above their pay scale.

Based on the boards I have seen, it's not enough. Additionally, the compositing and scale problems that we constantly see are probably happening here rather than at the animation studio.

If the animators were expected to read English and come up with their own drawings, why bother having storyboarders at all? Just give them the script.

A storyboard isn't an Alan Moore outline. It need to show. It needs to solve setup, camera movement, timing. It needs to show how they want things drawn because, as I mentioned, the outsource studio is not paid enough to have creative input. They don't want, nor are they approved to have that kind of responsibility.
