I have all the volume 1 hard covers, I really have no interest in the rest, Volume 2 was fair enough but honestly Runaways doesn't work as anything other than Volume 1 because they don't have anything to run AWAY from I even got Vaughan and Alphona to sign it at TCAF last year. God this series really got me into the notion of buying comics.

The big problem was the last arc was killed literally in the middle. There was no resolution to what happened an issue before let alone resolution to the hanging plot lines like what happened to Xavin.

I personally don't hate the stuff in V3, other than killing Old Lace being the worst idea.

Everything after that scattered around other books has been terrible.

Fun Fact, in terms of brute lifting and punching strength Marvel put Molly at #4 on their list of strongest ladies, Shulk, Rogue and MM beat her. That was before Red Shulk though so she might be 5 now.

That always bothered me. I wish they would have addressed how fucked up that whole situation was. Have them break up because Xavin finally admits that, as much as he loves Karolina, he's a man and can't live his life like that.

I'm sure at least BKV was going somewhere with it maybe he didn't want to go all in right away and sorta play out the idea of a trans person but not the way a lot of tumblr fans seem to think. Not that Xavin was genderfluid, but that he really was more comfortable as a dude. Kinda like how Karolina coming to terms with being a lesbian got a long arc.

Even though Whedon had the "You really are a girl" moment it still could be read as Xavin just doing it to get Karolina to shut up, as it's something he already did before.

In that way I like that it was gross. I want it to be ugly. It makes it really human. LGBT stories can be ugly too.
