There are things to like about TTG Raven, and that I wouldn't mind seeing canon (or even TT 2003) Raven integrate. But at the same time, TTG is basically Always Sunny in Philidelphia, and she's a pretty horrible person if the plot requires, just like the other Titans.

Writefriendan/shitposting update: I am having the bad times, friends.

For those lovelies who may want to know: my original plan was to update every Friday until the Robin/Jinx bodswap story was done, but I've been sick this week and trying to write with prednisone in my system hasn't been working super well. Throw on the fact that I still went to work all week, and I'm only about a quarter of the way through the rough draft of pt. 2 of the body swap fic. So while I will work on it tonight after work and tomorrow before work, I don't think I'll realistically he able to get it done in time for Friday Party.

On the bright side, I'm getting better and tomorrow is my last day of prednisone. Also, pt. 2 is considerably more perverted while still retaining elements of the first part's story. Also, I've started writing BUSTED, a oneshot based off a request a couple Raven threads back about Jinx trying to use magic to steal breast-size from Raven, with unexpected results.

So, I'll get those done ASAP and pump them out whenever I get them done, probably either sometime over the weekend or early next week.

TT managed to hit a lot of notes: serious drama, action, silliness and light romance. It managed this by focusing on the characters, with the more serious action/drama plots revolving around the Titans' reactions as much as the plot itself, and the same can be said about their wacky, surreal episodes. Also, TT had almost an Impressionist writing style. They didn't delve too deeply into exposition or details, more content to convey most ideas through mood an style. It's a form of showing and not telling that both gives the characters and situations layers and depth, but also leaves the characters open to interpretation, making the Titans fun characters to play with and think about, and also let TT play fast and loose with their world building, establishing fan favorites with ease, often without meaning to.

Throw in its non-cape influences, everything from FLCL to The Breakfast Club, and all of it combines to establish the animated Titans as a unique superhero team. They've very much got their own little corner of the big DC world, and no one can deny that it's theirs and theirs alone. It's memorable and fun and skillfully of opportunity all the years later. These are characters you take anywhere and do anything with, but more often than not you don't even want to take them out of the Tower, because they fit so well into their super-roomies concept.

And, controversial as it can be, TTGo is an addicting show that carries on the memory of the 03 Titans and makes them continually relevant, increasing the chances of seeing this interpretation of the Titans, or one like it, become a concept that DC will want to revisit and recreate as time goes on.

Personally I like TTGo, but then again I love Always Sunny and crackfics, so it's basically just one big animated crackfic to me.

In that case then, the show seems like a step down from the original. The characters are no longer 3 dimensional and are all now 1 dimensional jerks whose only purpose now is to be a punchline for a joke. There's a good way and bad way to do parodies. The way they're doing a parody seems completely ignorant of the source material. They write the characters around jokes when they see fit when they should be writing jokes around the characters. A good example of a parody is Rick and Morty. It imitates Back to the Future characters Doc Brown and Marty but the characters Rick and Morty despite being a parody of them, still feel 3 dimensional with their own thoughts and feelings that they evolve beyond being a cheap mockery imitation to characters that you actually care about.

TTGO has its funny moments as few as it may be but it is a mediocre show and I refuse to sit there and clap my hands and celebrate it's mediocrity when it can do so much more to be a better show.

I'm intentionally exaggerating the proportions of the characters for lewd reasons but is it becoming too exaggerated? I'm interested at attempting to draw the characters to the shows both facial-wise and body-wise at some point just to see if I am capable of achieving that level of accuracy with them. Believe it or not, I struggle to get them to look the way they do in the show just with their faces alone. It's honestly a dream of mine to one day be as skilled as Zone in terms of achieving that on show accuracy.

Hey, this PervyJimmy. Digging your work. Personally I've always preferred staying as close to the model as possible (why I also love zones work). But I can see the appeal of exaggeration. For me, my target was always to aim for the most lusty models, pic related. Also, I think this was my ideal for the body models: http://rule34.paheal.net/post/view/444388

Honestly, I think it can go either way. Most of the time the original characters were stick figures. That's not what people want to see. I say develop the bodies you like to draw, i don't think anyone is going to raise pitchforks for making the Titan girls thick.

I only posted my pics because I wanted to do stuff like zone. Never bothered too much with sfw stuff since it didn't get much exposure anyway. Though you found a happy medium for the blue boards. Nice shout out on Zone's vlog btw.

It became too time consuming, I still draw every now and then but i haven't actually sat down to finish anything. Some of my better stuff took days. First with redraws, then coloring and corrections. Near the end, if I didn't like it then I didn't release it, so it felt like an even bigger time sink. I just became obsessive on staying on model and that I think is what killed it for me.

So like I said, draw what you like. You'll want to do it more if you do.

Yeah I can understand how doing art can become time consuming and start feeling like its sapping time away from other things you want to do. I'm a bit of a slowpoke and I usually end up spending an entire day just working on one pic.

Also I reckon Zone has inspired a lot of artists to aim to a level of near 1:1 on model perfection with their favorite shows. I don't know what it is but there is something about when you make certain fanart of characters on model with the show they are from, it can make it more sexually appealing than fanart that is off model even when the artist has drawn them more curvy or thicc in their own style. I wonder why that is though? If anyone has a theory on this then feel free to share it.
