Hey /co/ it's been a little bit, sorry about that! I think what's gonna happen is for the month of March I am gonna story time some of my favorite super hero teen books! Starting with Sentinel so that way when we read AA you know who thr fuck this kid is.

Cool, I'm in.
>>90494014
For this series or the whole teen month idea? Last month I did wrestling comics so I kinda like the idea of themes every so often.
>>90494066
Either way works for me.
Teen heroes usually start strong but get the short end of the stick as time passes.
>>90494160
Well they have to, lest they become staples and infringe on the big names

Wait is that Zemo's personal cock sleeve before it all happened?
Ah yes, Marvel's short lived anime phase.
Ah Sentinel. Let me check something real quick.
Yep still fucking livid beyond what words can describe.
>>90494457
W-why is that?
This is my fist time reading this or seeing this character. He wasn't in Arena so it can't be that bad, right?
>>90493965
Avengers Arena must have really pissed you off
>>90494518
>>90494535
Wait, was he in arena?
Oh no, was he one of the characters I didn't know about a shrugged off when I saw him die!?
>>90494535
Did ANYONE like Arena? Like honestly?
Fan favorites were either killed like Mettle or ruined like Nico. I love teen superheroes in a lot cases but to have them kill each other for cheap shocks and to cash in on shit like Hunger Games is just terrible. Compare early Avengers Academy or Runaways Vol 1 to Arena and just consider what a 180 that is.
>>90494597
OC Donut Steal broke his neck and stole his sentinel for an issue before it got wrecked like a chump. Sad part was none of that needed to happen becuase it didn't advance the plot at all
>>90494601
>Did ANYONE like Arena? Like honestly?
There's that one weird guy on TVtropes who was watching the page like a hawk to try and claim the series was a cult favorite. But no I don't think anyone liked it and sales seem to corroborate that
>>90494535
I didn't even read Sentinel and Justin's death pissed me the fuck off. I liked the concept of a kid using a giant robot for heroics but I suppose you can only go so far once a run is up.
>>90494666
Exactly Satan. Like I understand from a marketing perspective Marvel's whole "A pissed off fan is better than NO fan" I REALLY do but the thing is that drums up sales for a little bit and then they drop off like a brick. It's not a solid long term strategy and it alienates long time fans, books like Arena are exactly what you DON'T do with teen heroes. I'd pay marvel money every month (like the 2 bucks they want) to NOT touch Runaways ever again unless Vaughan wants to do it.
>>90494715
The thing is that like Justin could still have a few stories in him, like I appreciated the IDEA of Mutants wanting his sentinel dead despite all the changes he made to it that happened in AvX but it was executed kinda heavy handedly.
>>90494890
>she shows him how to use his sword
>>90494936
Out of context this could look like the kid's totally on board with killing all muties.
>>90494736
And somehow Undercover was even worse.
>yeah looks hook Hazmat up witth my OC DONUT before her dead boyfriend's grave even has time to grow grass
>Don't write them well. Don't give them chemistry. Just have other characters shout OMG OTP 5EVAR!
>change Nico's powers because you're too dumb to use them and too lazy to look at the list of spells on her wiki page
>insist she's stronger but don't show her being stronger just shout YEAH YOUR STRONGER THATS HOT!
oh based McKeever!
the Waiting Place is a great book
>>90493965
Thanks Dan, always wanted to learn more about Juston.
Alrighty guys this is the end of the first volume, I think we might do a different comic instead of volume 2 and maybe double back around to volume 2 later. Maybe Runaways or Academy or some Titans.
Bump.
I was surprised that I liked this the first time I read this, but I enjoyed it. Thanks Dan.
>>90495596
Looking forward to volume 2. Thanks, Dan.
this is surprisingly fun
>>90495795
There was a time when there were a lot of fun teen books man, companies used to love making these.
Thank you so much dan, I read this years ago when it first came out, brings back memories.
>>90495847
I grew up on Gen13 and Generation X lol
>>90494601
Holy shit, I've heard stories about this here. I'm not much of a marvel guy and started this up mostly because I never knew the name before and fuck. I don't understand how you could not get mad at AA.
>>90493965
>when we read AA
>>90495151
Juston "See a mutie, point and shooty" Seyfert
>>90495575
>talking about columbine
I wasn't ready for that be be brought up.
>Young, talented kid uses giant thing plus kid smarts for heroics
Gee, does this sound like any Marvel titles currently coming out? Or like any that are just about to start?Seriously, fuck Marvel for killing this just to shove Devil Dino and Kid Kaiju down our throats.
>>90493965
Thanks, Dan, I've always loved the Iron Sentinel.
Are you going to post all of the academy/runaways issues?
I've never read Arena but I'm hyped to have my heart ripped out and stepped on if you are.
>>90495847
>companies used to love making these.
Hey, at least we have super sons now.
Thanks for the storytime, Anon!
Just remember to label any 'Arena' Storytime: "STORYTIME OF PAIN"
>>90501120
>storytime of suffering: the road to arena
>>90494761
>despite all the changes he made to it that happened in AvX
I had no idea the kid existed past this book.
Damn, Dan, why are you making me interested in reading events I've avoided to preserve my health and sanity?
