The obvious one is Overwatch. They have a cast of characters and some decent worldbuilding, but not much of a narrative beyond backstory.

You could do some good work with this, and Overwatch characters have come back from the dead (either explicitly dead or "MIA" dead) half a dozen times so you can have your cake and eat it too.

Reaper's whole shtick is he can't die. He is the perfect bad guy to get exploded every couple episodes and come back next time.

Not Mort as far as I know, but his daughter said that she wrote a script for a Wee Free Men adaptation. But it's possible that one for mort is in production, too since a ton of discworld books seem to always be in production, but never take off.
