There was no episode called Best Friends, if you don't even watch the show don't comment on it. Bon Bon, Just Friends and Starcrushed were by far the best episodes because they made the viewers experience real emotions. If you just want to see things blow up and watch people shoot lizards with magic wands you really are a manchild in the worst sense of the word.

They do use a lot of that though. The defeat of the MHC. Toffee kidnapping Marco. Ludo kidnapping Glossaryck by taking the book. Also most of the suggestions you make work or fail based on the strength of the relationships. If a character dies and the main characters have had little to no interaction with him, it wil have no impact. But if the main characters love him, it will be very emotional. So shipping is a means to strengthen the emotional moments you suggest.

But that's just as long as we have Ludo/Toffee posing a threat and we're kept on a cliffhanger. It seems as though they're writing themselves into a corner.

Drag on the love triangle but fail to advance the serious plot and people are going to get tired of the former quickly.
Solve the serious plot too early and you're left with nothing but awkward, boring teen romance.
Try to solve both quickly and return to the status quo and you lose your tension and your audience.

Now that they've taken this path, I see little in the way they could possibly get out of it. They might try to pull off an "Oh, but it turns out it was Eclipsa all along!", but I fear the damage has already been done.

guys. ive just had an epiphany. jarco is never going to work out.

the reason is very simple. Star is a colossal fuck-up. everything she tries goes wrong. all of her attempts at doing something good are always brought to ruin by her mistakes.

in our arrogance, we jarco shippers told ourselves this was a point in our favour, that the fuck-up could never have her golden prince. we did not see the truth of things.

marco and jackie were set up with eachother as a couple by star in the first place. if they were to find lasting love together she would no longer be an utter failure. no matter what else transpired, she could console herself with that at least she succeeded at helping her best friend find happiness.
