"The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Jasper is NOT becoming a Crystal Gem. She hate Rose and what she stood for. However, we've also seen that she's not exactly as loyal to Homeworld as she might appear. She refers to Yellow Diamond by name instead of "my Diamond/our Diamond" because she obviously still regard Pink as her Diamond, and she never made any attempt to contact Homeworld, unlike Peridot. So I predict that she's going to be sort of a neutral party for a while, wandering around wondering what to do now. I'm hoping what will happen is that(after some development) she'll be able to get in contact with the Zoo Quartzes(who used to belong to Pink Diamond)and,seeing how much they like our Amethyst, will agree to a truce/alliance, fighting against Homeworld.

If Peridot becomes an important buffer between Jasper and Lapis (you know, keeping the peace with the skills Steven rubbed off on her) then such a fusion would be a good representation of the success or rockiness of that. It's also malachite closure without having to bring her back, which is thematically iffy with what she representations being compounded so thoroughly. Like, it's hard to undo that, but adding Peridot is the loophole

I expect they'll cure her corruption and she'll be all touched and learn about the power of friendship or whatever. She'll go live in her own meme barn and make cameos occasionally. Her meme personality will be grumpy and being grumpy about not understanding earth.

Other characters will apparently be fine with their former enemy hanging around because of off screen character development. Sometime in Season 11 they'll remember Malachite and have them hamfistedly reconcile that in the span of 5 minutes in between recycled townie plots.

Lapis is the Piccolo, originally a final boss, but sticks around for the cute kid and subtly becomes indoctrinated to the team.
