Out of all the cartoons that are currently airing new episodes, which ones will be remembered in 15 years?

TEEN TITANS GO

Adventure Time.
>>
Steven Universe

"What's a cartoon?"
>>
>>90238628
Steven Universe, easy, especially if serious animation in the west starts to really take off a platform anytime in the next 10 years.

It'll definately be recieved a lot more warmly 5-10 years after the culture wars of the early 21st century die down a bit.
>>
>>90238628
SU, adventure time, TTG, maybe loud house
>>
Every single one of them by the 5-10 audience they're directed at and the 11+ audience who latches on to them.

You're too young for the "my media is better than what the youngins have!" crowd.
>>
>>90238826
People have been predicting "serious animation in the west" since the 90's anime boom. It's not happening, and if it did no one would attribute it to a show that's My Little Pony for fat people.
>>
>>90238925
>My Little Pony for fat people.

Is that not My Little Pony already?
>>
>>90238925
>MLP for Fat People
i know SU isnt a masterpeice, but it's way better than a Cartoon that has a fanbase of Conservative Fat Fedora Wearing Straight Yurifag Furries.
>>
>>90239008
>Conservative
>Fedora
What?
>>
>>90239008
>>90239024
Don't forget

>Yurifag

>My Little Pony for fat people
lol, way to out yourself as an MLP fan
>>
>>90238628
Adventure Time, Young Justice, and Transformers Prime. Young Justice will be spoken of as the JLU of the current generation.
>>
>>90239049
Both groups are greasy pedophiles. You can tell that the people who made SU looked at the shitshow that is the MLP audience and said "we want that".
>>
>>90239024
>>90239042
MRA and Fedora go hand in hand like /pol/ and /sjw/ arguing
Also they are all hella straight but hate straight ships in their pony cartoon.
I had to interview a MLP club in my college and boy was it bad
>>
>>90238628

Adventure time had a shot at being remembered but it's been going so long that it's devolved and people don't care about it anymore.

SU might be remembered depending on how it ends and what the next few iterations of "muh srs bsns cartoons" are like.

Rick and Morty will probably be remembered.
>>
>>90239707
Rick and Morty will only be remembered in 15 years because there'll be a season five in development.
>>
>>90238826
>serious animation
>last episode was basically the writer telling the niche part of the cancerous fandom to stop bullying her.
>via morals delivered in such a ham-fisted way that'll even make barney the dinosaur blush

Star Wars: Rebels
>>

too fucking late. We are in the stages of late capitalism, where quality matters less than quantity.
>>

>if serious animation in the west starts to really take off a platform anytime in the next 10 years.

Lol. If anything it will die out in the east and stop existing entirely.

Venture Bros

I'm so excited for season nine.

I'm imagining quite a lot of moms in the future to show their kids SU in the hopes that they'll love it like they did, only for their children to get bored and watch PewDiePie Beyond or something.
>>

>MRA

Found the Tumblerina.
>>
Ahaha, people will certainly remember MLP and still be complaining about its fandom even if it dies. It's been seven years and I still regularly see people complain bloody everywhere, for example in this thread. MLP and its fans traumatized hundreds of thousands of people and they won't forget.

If we're talking about what cartoons will be remembered for their quality and popularity, probably Rick & Morty, Steven Universe and possibly Adventure Time. Maybe Star vs as well.
>>
>>90238628

Adventure Time revived the American cartoons market. Like it or not.

MLP

Don't kid yourself into thinking anyone outside of /co/ remembers Timm's work.

The fandom already died.
Seriously, there is no need for a containment board anymore.

I'm very curious about how Pewdiepie Beyond would work now.

Steven Universe for all the wrong reasons. Something really nasty is going to happen with that fucking fandom.
>>
Harvey Beaks, it'll get discovered in a few years time for being pure-hearted.
>>
>>90238628
spongebob.
>>
MLP for the massive amounts of porn that will forever clog porn sites. People might not remember the show in particular but when they hit up Rule34 or e621 they'll wonder why the fuck it has so many hits.
>>
>>90238628
Probably MLP for the strange phenomena it created, as most shows who can boast that do. Even if the show is not fondly remembered for quality, there will always be those who look back on it just for the oddity of it all, the massive following and strange impact it had that really, it shouldn't have. Sort of like Transformers in a way, I guess would be the best comparison. The original transformers wasn't a good cartoon, riddled with errors and frequently boasting bad plots, but the phenomena and following it created cannot be ignored in the grander schemes of history, and as odd as this sounds I see a resurgence in the popularity of this show sometime 15 years from now, much like Transformers had.

Steven Universe will probably be seen as another oddity. It's not caught on in the grander public mind, it didn't quite match the rapid expansion lightning in a bottle of MLP, but it still spawned an impressively sized fanbase from generally nothing. That said, with it's middling action, focus on comedy and heavy handedness of it's message, the closer comparison to this one will be Captain Planet. People will likely remember how cheesy and silly it was more than the show itslef, but that won't stop it from persisting as a cultural mark that very few cartoons of this era have. Will it be remembered as over the top and ridiculous? Of course, just like we remember the silliness of "Very special episodes' in cartoons today, but I feel that will only add to it's longevity. Lots of shows did environmental episodes, but none have that same recollection as Captain Planet. I expect the show will likewise have it's own recollection with social issues.

Finally, Spongebob. Nuff said.
>>
>>90238628
Like it or not, probably Adventure Time for popularizing the noodle arm, cal art style.

>>90238711
Only by children who will feel nostalgic for it, and will more likely than not defend it to the death because "muh childhood".

I mean it's fine if you can only get off by watching, but some people prefer getting in on the action.

You say that as if it were a fresh discovery.
