I fucking hate how bad this comic got. That series of pages with the authors breaking the fourth wall was part of what made me realize it stopped being good.

I'm being an ass by breaking up this storytime but god damn this comic is so good at the start and became so bad.

It's such a shame how the comics industry works: here you have an instant classic, simultainiously one of the greatest erotic AND comedy comics ever made, a comic capable of tackling romance, sexuality and sexual maturation like only the best japanese seinen manga can - it didn't win that Eisner for nothing -, a comic so unbelievably good...

And you get only six issues per year. That is if you're lucky. Or is that just five.

Meanwhile fuckind Dan Slott gets to make everybody hate Spider-Man comics twice a month.

It is a disgrace.

The true travesty of the industry is that they're still pumping this crap out. This comic did everything it needed to in the first two arcs. Maybe even just the FIRST arc. And yet here we are, still getting more issues while the quality is exponentially decaying. This comic and Saga are prime examples of why I don't buy Image comics until the series is over anymore. No matter how good they start, they always go on way too long and devolve into filler or just let the quality slide way down until the book is finally either mercy killed or reaches the natural conclusion it should have reached two years ago.

Also lmao at using the Eisners as a judge of quality.

Most of Image comics output are works with real creative integrity, that have aspirations. Sure, plenty are tv show pitches. But enough have substance to make it worth it.

I don't know if you're just rumproasted that you stepped into a storytime of a comic you liked that most of /co/ didn't, but there are a huge amount of comics that the majority of /co/ enjoys. Obviously there are dissenting opinions, but if you can't handle the bantz then why are you on 4chan to begin with? Perhaps you'd prefer /r/comics if you can't handle the fact that some people aren't completely enamored of Image.

This month's tribute covers are kinda telling of how far Image has come in 25 years. Yes, it was initially about a group of Marvel dudes doing their own thing, but make no mistake: It was all about building their own brands and merch.

It shows that the first thing a lot of them did when they got hold of their own destiny was make their own versions of X-Men. McFarlene broke this trend by basically making his own Batman. It wouldn't be until later when we started seeing actual new and different concepts.

Wait, wait, wait. So for all of these people to be talking to each other at the same time, wouldn't it mean that they all had to cum at the same exact time in order to interact with each other?

That was some good shit, never knew this stuff existed, not that I'm even that into comics anyway. I say that being on the comic board, but whatever. I really need to buy the rest of these issues, this stuff is gold! I've been looking for something that's kind of like a romantic comedy, but not shitty. Which is very hard to do, if you've ever seen any rom com. Then I find it on /co/ of all places, who knew?

I never found that it lost steam and more that it changed its focus a bit from the relationship to trying to get the people after them out of their hair. It feels like the latest issue has returned to how the book was in the first two arcs quality and focus wise though which hopefully brings people who have fallen off back because I really hope this series does well.

I forget which issue I was reading at the time but I just felt so bored the whole way through because the jokes didn't have enough set up before the punchline or just weren't funny to me. I was so disappointed by the time I flipped through to the last page. I'm still reading every issue though - in a sticking with the sinking ship kind of way. Hopefully this hiatus was enough time for FracZardo to pull this shit together.
