>Broxton, who created the image and wrote the text, wrote on Facebook, “First Batgirl, then Spider-Woman and more recently Iron Man, all comics featuring variant covers that kicked up a bit of fuss. It seems my variant cover for Vampirella #3 is next on that infamous list. it has upset a few folks (four of them as far as I know, could be more). I’m solely responsible for the cover, it was my idea, my art and my cover copy.”
>He elaborated in a response to a supportive comment, saying, “there is no bigotry on display, it lampoons all of those outdated notions, with humour, it in no way condones or legitimises abhorrent views. Anyone who thinks it does is wrong. I created the cover, I know what my intentions were and I make absolutely no apology for it what so ever. If a few people are offended, so what? Also, for the record the woman is not trans, she is female. The trolls who kicked off this nonsense got that wrong as well.”

We need more artist willing to stick to their guns and stand up for their art instead of caving in to pressure from easily offended sjw

Good for him, it's a cool cover. The offending line is in the spirit of the art

Buying.

Even if they offend YOU?

>paying for a dynamite book
Prepare to regret the purchase.
>>
>>90191494
>Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers
>Battlefields
>clasic red Sonja
I'll do my best.

The only thing that offends me is bad, lazy writing. In other words, all of Marvel comics.

it clearly a parody of those old trashy pulp covers.

still, this could drum up some sales for the book I suppose
>>
>>90191547
None of those are good.

The best and worst part about pulp is that the actual stories never live up to the cover art.

How does anything I said imply that? You try something and if it's bad you stop reading it.
>>
>>90191784
And yet you read all of those books to the end...
>>
>>90191815
I'm not going to read a shitty book on the off chance it gets better 20 some issues in. Dynamite puts out terrible books, just like Avatar or Zenescope.
>>
>>90191960
You seem to know a lot about bad books. How many do you read a week? Have you ever considering dropping them?
>>
>>90191987
All of them, all books are bad.
>>
>>90192109
>unable to like anything
I pity you, fanboys.
>>
>>90190904
>Also, for the record the woman is not trans, she is female
>She is a he
So which one is it then?
>>
>>90192160
I pity you more for thinking that was serious.
In all honesty Dynamite books aren't God awful, they are just mediocre. Dynamite has a really bad habit of paying a lot of money to get high quality talent on the first few issues then dropping them and letting the book coast.
>>
>>90190904
Is that Trump?
>>
>>90192228
Thanks for the info, Dynamite expert.
>>
>>90192279
Are you some kind of Dynamite employee? Why are you getting so upset about this?
>>
>>90192318
No.
Why are you? You started the shitposting after all.

Now his mediocrity has increased by a tenfold.

You come to this board, where we bitch about comics all fucking day. Have you ever seen anyone on this board demanding an apology?
>>
>>90195609
This was known for a while.
>>
>>90195571
the only thing of his I liked was Demon Knights and that was pretty much the first arc.

and trans Shining Knight was boring
>>
>>90190904
It's vampirella. It's like going after Drawn Together just let it be what it never denied being.

>Baked in Alaska
>The cooler cannibal claims another cutie!!
Something about that wordplay I just love.
>>
>>90195571
It probably is because of how short a statement Twitter is, but it seems pretty weak sauce to not specify what in his statement you disagree with or at least state anything about what said person stated.
Just saying "I disagree" sounds like you didn't really pay attention to what was said and am simply saying what you think you should say instead of an actual opinion being formed on the matter.
>>
>>90195571
Americans were a mistake.
>>
>>90197000
Cornell's British.
>>
>>90197000
yuros, strayans and canadians are much more pc than americans
>>
>>90197076
That doesn't invalidate my statement.
>>
>>90190904
literally who trying to generate controversy for his 5 minutes of fame.
>>
Could we talk about the comic instead of controversy-baiting? I thought this particular drama-fest was done with a few days ago already.

Cornell's first Vampirella issue was weird and not at all what I expected. It reminded me of a euro sci-fi comic and also of an old 2000AD comic called Durham Red. There's a bit of super kitschy sci-fi like Logan's Run in there too. I'm going to keep reading regardless of some cover spat.
>>
>>90197152
yuros aren't nearly as pc as americans what the fuck? you lot defend gypsies.
>>
>>90190904
I agree with Broxton. People got their shit bent over nothing.
>>
>>90190904

Really sticking up for a shitty piece of copy on a cover?
