I would've wanted it to happen just to see how it would've changed the direction the mainstream public viewed Superman, and how DC in general would've progressed in accomodating that perception.

It had interesting visual concepts, but that's about it. It would have been just Edward Scissorhands with aliens, to the point that even Tim Burton's initial drawings of Superman look kind of like Johnny Depp.

What would have been really great would have been Steven Spielberg or Ron Howard directing a refinement of Kevin Smith's script.

And I think Nicholas Cage would have been much better as Lex Luthor.

IIRC wasn't Walken to play Perry White? Tim Allen was considered for Braniac.

I'm almost sure the movie would have ended up terrible, but we would be looking back at it and having a good laugh.

I still think it would be amazing if at some point in the DC Cinematic Universe, they got Nic Cage to play Bizarro.
