In general, I think seasons 1-2, maybe 3, were the best ones for Fairly odd parents. They had a more retro feel to the humor and tone, more clever, and not as ADHD as the later ones. For instance, Cosmo was way better when he sounded like a smooth-talking game show host and was more of middling intelligence, rather than the retard he became later on.

Also I think the animation looked better when it was more stylized.

I'll defend this one, it made sense in the context of the episode. I also think it shows the important other side of the coin to her tomboy side.

Trixie emotionally survives off the attention of others (for whatever reason), thats why she struggles with acting girly and popularity.

Her true self is a tomboy, but this reveals why she doesn't just be a tomboy.

This show was never amazing to me but it's long past horrible now.

He had a very low, Phil Hartman-esque voice in the ten 'Oh Yeah! Cartoons!' episodes. When the show was picked up for production in 2000/2001, his voice got gradually higher because Butch (or possibly Nick executives) wanted to turn Cosmo into a moron.

Looking back at the pre-production episodes, Cosmo seems outright intelligent, if slightly silly, at times and Wanda is actually the somewhat dumber one in the original pilot episode from 1998.

Personally, I wish the show had ended after 'Channel Chasers'.

I gained some new found respects after the "The Boy who would be Queen" episode because I love Tomboys and wish she was out in the opened a bit more about it (or at least show a bit more later on in the seasons)

This is one of the last episodes I decided to give a chance and it was pretty bad. Vicky sounded really off, like Grey is getting too old to get the voice right anymore, and it of course ended with a fight parodying Star Wars, I mean parodying that shit is like the Jk Rowling "stretch their legs" of this show

This. Vicky had somewhat of a moral conscience in S1-2 and actually cared about Timmy's safety when he went missing. They basically turn her into the anti-Christ in later seasons.

Really it was badly written and so was mostly everything about this season. I think the people writing this show really have no idea who most of the characters are and Hartman isn't really doing much to guide them. The writers/directors just want their pay check and use FOP as a stepping stone to building their own resumes. Like that cuck Kevin Sullivan who is now polluting Loud House.

He got screwed over by Nick poorly scheduling TUFF Puppy which got it cancelled.
By then he just wanted FOP to end out of spite.

Hartman was officially done with the FOP series when Danny Phantom was cancelled actually. I remember he even said as much in an old post on his forum when it was announced that both shows would be coming to an end. A few years and failed projects later, he's back to making FOP with Poof added and the quality is notably degraded, although I do think he had flashes of effort in seasons 6 and 7.

Yeah though, it's clear the series took a dramatic nose dive after Sparky, it had been growing stale long before that but it really just went off the rails that season, and this season hasn't really done to fix much, adding Chloe just created even more backlash. Looking at his new show Bunsen is a Beast however it doesn't exactly feel like Hartman has some sort of spark of brilliance waiting or something, that show is bad and I think the man is just tired of cartooning.
