25 years ago a bunch of Marvel artists left the Big Two and decided to form their company, with blackjack and hookers. This company would eventually become the closest to a third competitor for DC and Marvel (lol) and the best known creator-owned comic book company out there.
Now it's time for what I like to call the Pre-Saga era, when Image was trying to shed away their "extreme" 90's self and not many were paying attention to them. There were some break-out hits, but not as much as today.
First up is the zombie story that surprised everyone, Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead

The thing I will never understand is there have been dozens and dozens of indy B&W Zombie comics since the 90's and none of them ever took off until WD
tell me why /co/
>>89891539
I have no idea, never been a big TWD fan desu.
>>89891496
Thank you for posting WD.
>>89891723
You're welcome. As always, only doing the first arc.

No Problem.
what do you guys think of the comic compared to the show.
I've only read the first chapter of the comic and I thought the show handled all that better. I also like Rick's portrayal more. The comic seems to be the typical comic, the show is what has all the flavor and depth that's added from the acting. Coming from someone who watched the show first, going to the comic does make it seem like your typical comic just with the idea of TWD, they seem very different. Idk, thoughts?

Dunno, never watched the show, barely remember the comic.
Maybe this has already been asked, but didn't we do this literally a week ago?

Image Week 3? I don't think so.
Thoughts on where the story is heading now post-Whisperer War? Looks like they are going to be overrun to the point Eugine is forced to ask Stephanie if they'll let them be temporary refugees while a small group attempt to clean up while Rick and Eugine go and check out Ohio.

The comic starts off as a typical comic but gradually gains depth as it goes on. The thing that makes the tv show interesting is how it's its own version of the same story. I also feel like the comic characters tend to be much more expressive.

I like how issues 1-126 are just a typical horror story questioning human nature but now they are actually rebuilding society and wondering if they can go back to how it all was is pretty interesting.

I completely forgot about stephanie. I hope this happens. Alexandria has been so drawn out that the tv show has caught up.

While I have loved the pacing of The Whisperers arc it feels like Kirkman was just stalling until he could come up with something to follow it. The Saviors storyline was pretty good at first but I think he rushed the war with them and just wanted to get it over and done with.
Still very excited to see what Stephanie's people are like and how Rick and co will fuck things up for them.
I'm betting Stephanie will only allow a certain maximum number of people in like five or so and others will be forced to stay behind to rebuild if they are lucky enough.
I want the show to end so the prices on the comics can drop back down to sane levels
It's the most glaring hole in my Image collection

I'm planning on buying doubles of every issue from now to #200 then selling them off.
Anyone else wondering why Beta wears the mask and if I pull it off would it be extremely painful?

Anyone else agree with a comment in the previous issue's letterhack how Kirkman has gotten stale at killing off people? I think this is because it is now a franchise and he's terrified of killing off certain, well liked established characters. I doubt we'd ever see a repeat of the prison with so many fan favourite deaths happening but who knows.
I really like Tony Moore, what's he done since the first arc of Posehn/Duggan Deadpool?

A variant for Remender's Seven to Eternity
That's all for TWD. More Pre-Saga Image next time!

Haven't watched the show in ages, but from what I remember the show version of Shane was far less sympathetic and seemed for more unhinged
I actually feel bad for the comic version
>>89896679
Thank you anon.
>>89896706
He got less sympathetic as the show went on
Initially he was pretty bro-teir

More like Gay-briel lmao
So does the comic actually stay good unlike the show?
