Episode was alright, but I hate it when they present Casey as a worthless liability that can't do anything useful. The Nick show is so inconsistent about it. Some episodes Casey can keep up with everyone, other episodes he's deadweight.

Kinda cool that they saved Tiger Claw's origin story for something special, though I wish they'd gone into it with more detail. Hopefully we'll get another Alopex episode and they get into it more.

Comics Alopex is "waaagh, I was raised to be the evils by shredder but totally not evils, waaagh!" and then awkward turtle flirting and "i'm now totally good, but not, but yes." It's just a frustrating character that has a very appealing design.

Of note is that Alopex refers to it being an artic fox, but the cartoon one is a fucking red fox keeping the name intact? It's like having Mondo Gecko, but he's now a monitor lizard.

Anyone else hate April the Mary Sue? The beginning of the episode is saying April is superior and near perfect while the turtles who have trained ALL their lives? Rookies who still need work. Also Alopex's characterization sucks. She blames Tiger Claw when he was a naive little 5 year old kid that he ruined her life because of the mutation? Fuck her. At that age you still believe in Santa Claus, of course Kid Tiger Claw was going to think a shiny portal was something fun to check out. What kid is going to be aware that dangerous as fuck aliens lie on the other side of a portal. And Tiger Claw's reasons for turning to crime made sense, they were freaks after the mutation. They had no chance at normal lives anymore. This Alopex manages to be shittier than the original. And frankly even in this episode they had enough time to have Raphael call her sweetheart and flirt somewhat with her.....the very shipping shit thing that ruined the original Alopex in IDW TMNT.

Also even if this show is for kids? Fuck the censorship. How do you cut off someone's arm and then NOT bleed? Remember Thundercats 2011? It had a character's arms get sliced off and....no blood. Yeah kids imitate what you see you can just totally walk it off.

I didn't even realize until now Tigerclaw had no tail, or rather he used to and it was severed. I thought he just never had one to begin with.

Then again I also thought he was from another dimension and was born like that. It was disappointing to learn he used to be human. It takes some of his badassery away to see him as a kid and working in a circus.

Is it a bad thing I think THIS Alopex is better than the original? For one thing, this one consistently looks feminine. The only flaw she has is the human like feet in the design which for an anthro looks bad (yet her brother actually got full blown paws in his mutation). The personality is much better than the original's bland grunt nature, then she was a snowflake victim, and then she was "sort of there" and it all culminated with shipping romance.

April is the Jimmy Olsen/Lois Lane of the TMNT. She's there to contextualize the world the TMNT exist in.
