My mind's already envisioning the perfect Castlevania animated series, ala Samurai Jack with superior visuals and fight choreography. A series that takes itself seriously and maintains the Japanese soul of the series, with a bit of anime thrown-in for good measure ala Berserk.

This hype's gonna make it all the harder for me to swallow when the series is nothing at all how I'd have liked it. I'm just hoping they tone-down on the nudity, the violence, and the "American".

A film series? Sure.

While live-action will always be the most graphic way to portray horror-themed imagery, animation can and could do something just as impressive with the right direction. The questions, though, are what does the artstyle look like? Do they condense the plots of each game or split them up into part? And do they try to release the films theatrically or put them on a service before DVD?

I still wish some studio would make a sixteen part Shadow of the Colossus "movie", with each colossi battle being more or less self-contained, then it could be compiled into a single film.
