It really bothers and kind of triggers me that Yellow Diamond sang a very insulting song to Blue Diamond in an effort to "cheer her up". If I wanted to be cheered up, I would NOT choose for it to be a pun of my skin color. How this slipped past the Crewniverse AND Cartoon Network is an enigma considering that they both have been very good regarding social issues in the past.

Singing "What's the Use of Being Blue?" to a blue gem would be like me singing "What's the Use of Being Yellow" to a person of Chinese descent. Not that I'm ethnicshaming; I'm just describing a stereotype.

This sort of racial and ethnic skin-color suggestiveness should NOT be on TV, especially considering that this show influences countless children across the world.

Mayor "Bill" Dewey is actually Captain William Dewey, founder of Beach City, who gained immortality at some point. Based on the statue in "Buddy's Book", the two were identical. Dewey has been running for mayor the entire series despite BEING Mayor and not actually having any opponents, and his campaign stylings are curiously retro even for the retro-90s aesthetic of the show. He also seems to be the only person in Beach City who has any idea what the Gems actually are and what they're capable of. In "Historical Friction", he seems weirdly obsessed with the legacy of his "great-great-great-great grandpa", which he seems to view as one and the same with his own legacy. The most telling bit is at the end, when Pearl tells him "What's 200 years between friends?"; it's because she's lived long enough to know that there's only one William Dewey.

It could be she was the only witness and the coverup involved leaving evidence to back up Ruby's story. She's the only confirmed witness at this point though. Anything she says should be taken with a grain of salt due to her being absolutely retarded. She's proven being off-color or having the wrong gem isn't something she'd notice.

Its not impossible she was the only one in proximity to PD. We've seen the diamonds left nearly alone aside from their pearls several times, but even without that it could be she was the only one spared. Everyone else who was present could have been shattered to help the cover up. We won't know until we get more episodes about the incident.

It's not like one person's witness testimony would be everything they'd leave as evidence. There's plenty of ways to leave significant physical evidence to substantiate Ruby's report. Plus one of Rose's powers is straight up remote mind control. She could easily sway some people by fabricating false investigation reports by gems that would be reliable.

I'd love if they broke from Steven's POV for just a second after they discover that Steven and the Crystal Gems have formed an army (presumably Steven, the other 6 main gems, Bismuth, every corrupted gem healed, the Famethyst, and the Cluster), and we see Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond bring up a video screen, seemingly calling someone. Once the call is answered, we get a view obscuring the screen. Yellow tells White that there's a matter that needs her authorization. We see White on screen, looking forward with her head down and eyes closed. Once Yellow mentions it involves Earth and the Crystal Gems, White opens her eyes and lifts her head, with her gem reflecting off the screen and making the screen white out. We then hear her say, in a simple, monotonous voice, "Proceed as necessary". Cue a video chat ending/tv being turned off effect to end the episode.
