This is possible. But from the looks of things, genndy hasn't missed a beat since the day it ended.

It looks, feels and flows like samurai jack. It shares more than just the basis of it with the old show, because the creator seems to have gotten better at his craft, but is still the same guy who made dexters lab all those years ago.

The problem with reboots or sequels is that creators tend to fail to understand that at one point they really loved what they were making.
I never got the feeling that genndy ever lost his ability to love his work.

You can, however, get a feeling of how frustrated Jack is by rewatching the series and seeing just how many times he was so close to getting back to the past, only to have it just out of his reach.
