God, that fucking page. I know it's non-canon but it made me entirely re-evaluate the current arc. Just like then, current Lucy has learned to live without Mike. She may not be outwardly happy, but she's content and moving on.

Just look at how much of a fucking wreck Mike is here. If he says nothing, she will probably be fine, but you know he's going to open those floodgates and she's going to get sucked back in again.

This also leaves us with Abbey x Jasmine, which frankly I can't see anyone at all objecting to. They can bond together over how mature they think they are, their aspirations for perfection, and their intense dislike for Paulo.

I dunno if Daisy x Augustus still has a high chance of happening but I guess anything's possible. I mean, I like the guy, but his reaction to being accused that he was trying to manipulate Daisy into a relationship with him wasn't "I'm sorry", it was "Yes, you're right I'm a terrible person", which is self-aware but doesn't actually do anything to address that problem.

On the other hand, if there's something Taeshi seems to have a grasp on is that most of her characters are teenagers and it's ok to make mistakes, because that means they can grow to be better people. Lucy's family's influence would probably help him in that regard.

I had a similar reaction; I was certain MikeXLucy was over, they'd be friends at best. Then FitR destroyed that idea completely, despite being a future AU (probably because everyone's in character and it feels plausible)

And you're right, Lucy can manage without Mike, but will never be truly happy without him. Mike, however, seems conflicted with how he feels about Lucy a lot.

Yeah, I feel like Fork in the Road is in character, but only if Lucy, Mike and Sandy never got over their deep issues.

Lucy has a Mike-shaped hole in her life, and keeps to herself hoping that if she just ignores it and keeps on living she won't have to face it again, but as soon as he comes back the floodgates open and she makes a mistake. And again, she doesn't have the courage to confront Mike over it or the aftermath.

Mike continues to be so oblivious and insensitive that he can't truly notice how much Lucy cares for him, and he continues to try to stick with Sandy despite having no real chemistry.

And Sandy is too obsessed with her work to properly pay enough attention to Mike and later her kid.
