Honestly, the problem was the lack of a threat. They should have ended him in the Sinestro Corps arc, having sacrificed himself to kill/disable/send away Superboy Prime, instead of letting a motherfucking powerhouse of a character roll around, literally too OP for any of the lantern's current threats to be of any relevance to him, only to throw him into a sun some time later in a poor attempt to make people 'member Darkest Night and get rid of the fucking giant green elephant that they created.
