It's his trademark, and it works well considering how deeply pitched his voice is. I like it, honestly. Apart from his very early stuff when he had a bad mic setup, his presentation is 1000x better than most of the creepypasta readers on Youtube who sound either like nasal Scandinavians, or 13 year olds using their laptop mic who just discovered what Audacity was.

Ever just turn off the videos and listen to one of them? It's actually relaxing. I put on his take on Unedited Footage and This House Has People In It sometimes to sleep.
