25 years ago a bunch of Marvel artists left the Big Two and decided to form their company, with blackjack and hookers. This company would eventually become the closest to a third competitor for DC and Marvel (lol) and the best known creator-owned comic book company out there.
This week and maybe the next one I'll be posting some of Image's first series and maybe some of their recent hits as well.
So strap in, 'cause you're in for a trip down memory lane.
Next up is the franchise that never was, Jim Valentino's ShadowHawk

Shadowhawk here never had an animated series either, so here's a shitty unreleased game

Is the answer Wolverine?
>>89659356
More like Batman
I've seen /pol/ posts less racist than this stereotype shit
seriously, for every page of generic superangst inexplicably written in the 2nd person, there's two pages of black thugs going MUH DUP DUH
>>89660371
Which is ironic since Shadowhawk himself isblack
>>89660433
I'm not saying all white guys can't write black characters and issues, but this comic sure proves certain people fucking can't
>>89660462
Good lord I wrote better dialogue when I was 13.
Its weird, because his Guardians isn't bad, but this...
>>89661817
Thanks
This is some of the cringest, edgiest shit I've ever read in my life, Jesus christ, no wonder this got cancelled.

Well, the first couple of times I think they were only minis, but the revival definitely failed.
This feels like the comic the guys from Always Sunny would write.
It's like this guy got his entire idea of "inner-city" from 90's action movies like Predator 2 and Marked For Death.
That's all for Shadowhawk, one last early Image storytime tomorrow!

25 years later this is still the worst comic Image ever published. Thanks, though, I guess...
>>89665150The Big Lie is worse
>>89665150
no....this is not the worst but I would say this a book that could only have survive in the era that it was published. Jim Valentino never liked Shadowhawk all that much which is why he got reinvented twice over.
Thanks for posting this anon, brings back some memories. Some 90s cheese, but I did enjoy collecting a few issues back in the day. Lost track of him over the years.

At least The Big Lie is educational.

lol

You should consider skipping Wetworks, I know Portacio is a founder and everything but myuh
Do Witchblade because Sara rounds out the Image trinity, Astro City would be cool too, or the Maxx but I feel like a lot of people on /co/ have probably already read that one.
