I had a dream last night about an episode of SW:R. It was after a 1-year time skip, and Sabine was still training with the darksaber. The team had some sort of mission on an ice planet, and Sabine and Ezra ended up stuck in a cavern together. They had a bunch of bullshit heart to heart talk and ended up kissing each other on the foreheads.

Am I autistic, /co/?

>>
>>89660677
It depends what they know about SW already. If they know Vader is Luke's father, do whatever you want. Otherwise OT first if they somehow don't. Never include TCW because that's just too long of a commitment for someone that obviously hasn't seen SW before.
>>
>>89658671

I unironically support a relationship between Ezra and Sabine if ever such a relationship be written into the show. If another female (sorry fags) living (sorry SSfags) character is created or pulled from elsewhere to be Ezra's gf that is fine too.

Chronological Order.

Release Order is the worst fucking retarded meme that only the most nostalgia-blinded of purists will defend.

You could, perhaps, make a compelling case for it pre-TFA, but it no longer makes sense. Think about it.

>4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, Rogue One, 8, Han Solo, ect

No, just no.

The twists and structure of the franchise actually flows much better when watching chronologically. Twists like Order 66 and Sheev are much stronger than "I am your father", which has been ruined by pop culture. You also have the Luke/Leia reveal in Episode 3, which works infinitely more powerfully in Revenge of the Sith than it does in Return of the Jedi. Pure delusion to think otherwise.

There are plenty of examples of people watching chronologically and loving it.

>What about the Machete Order?
Fuck no, it sounds good on paper, but in practice it falls apart. Yes I am talking from personal experience.

>Should I watch TCW before Revenge of the Sith?
Optional but recommended, especially if you are already invested in the characters by Attack of the Clones. This is also going to be the absolute undeniable BEST way to get kids into Star Wars. You also get the added benefit of more emotional investment in the characters of Episode 6. (Dat Order 66 scene though)

So yeah, I see absolutely no reason why you should ever show people the originals first, beyond nostalgia. The prequels were constructed in a manner to make watching chronologically enjoyable for new viewers. No amount of "B-But the Vader reveal" will change that.
>>
>>89660965

>>89660818

Not only that, but the twists still work even if you know they're coming.
>>
>>89661028
Exactly. ESPECIALLY the Luke/Leia one, which I maintain works much better having seen Episode 3 first, but the Vader reveal still works just as well too.
>>
>>89660965
I've watched in every order imaginable, and OT first was still the best one for me
>>
>>89661063
I've watched in all the orders, and it only ever worked chronologically. It's simply how Lucas designed the prequels, to be followed up by the OT. You see the prophecy fulfilled in RotJ.

Episode 3 ends on such a grim note, but with a glimmer of hope. Hell, Rogue One basically repeats this, it's all leading into the much more tonally light and hopeful A New Hope.

Ending the Saga on Episode 3 was always retarded, even more so now that you would then jump to 7.

It simply only makes sense to watch chronologically now.
>>
>>89661028
It helps that a large part of the Vader twist's impact is Luke's reaction. Even if you know it's coming, Luke doesn't and you still feel that horrible surprise through him.
>>
>>89661124
episode IV is probably the best starter pack, since it drops you in the middle of the action, gives you a quick introduction to vader in all his menacing glory, and gives a quick run down of the force, simple enough to grasp but without bogging things down with explanation, the jedi, and the rebellion. it then gives us a simple but powerful plot to reel us in

Inb4 lazy writing why does Kylo have such a hard-on for Vader and not Sheev? I get it's hard not to worship your sith lord grandpa but Palps is the one who set him on that path, and he was evil and powerful as fuck. Maybe more than Snoke at the time. Not to mention he built an empire for himself, the same empire the first order is a splinter of.

sheevs involvenet in dark magic was probably not taught in high school, while vaders status as ex-jedi meant more people were aware he could use the force

You can very easily make the same case for Phantom Menace.

While it is true that ANH is a 10/10 starter Star Wars movie (my own first experience with Star Wars), the fact is it doesn't work anymore in the grand scale of the franchise. You have to jump around the timeline and it seriously breaks the flow of the movie series

thats completely fine, but dont let it get to your head
>>
>>89661520
>One of the problems with being a "le sneaky behind the scenes man" is that you don't get all the credit
Yeah, how many people even know just how far the rabbit hole goes with him? Sheev being an evil bastard is probably common knowledge in the ST era, but him having manipulated galactic events through a variety of false fronts and having engineered the fall of Anakin Skywalker and the destruction of the Jedi might not be so well known. Even people who might be aware that he had a connection to the dark side probably don't know the full story.

Meanwhile Vader is the posterchild for big dark side badasses. If you're looking for an idol, the tall imposing guy with the cool armor who was notoriously feared is probably going to catch your eye more than an old guy in robes, no matter how much more important that guy was.
>>
>>89661620

>>
>>89661648
>I don't really know where this idea that TPM is confusing comes from.
Because the character motivations are kinda all over the place

The key part of the plot is the invasion of Naboo but we never really know why that's happening

The TF is mad about taxes so they take it out on Naboo, but they also want to make it a "legal" invasion by capturing Padme and making her sign a "Everything is fine here, thanks" note.

Like, if Sheev wants to take power by creating a crisis on Naboo, his homeworld, so that he looks sympathetic and Valorum looks weak, why does he insist on Nute et al to make the invasion legal?
Wouldn't it help him more if it's an illegal invasion under Valorum?

Why does Valorum send the Jedi to investigate the Naboo situation but then tell them that they're not of any use?
Why does Sheev tell Nute to kill the Jedi if they're there to report to the Senate how bad things are?

For that matter, why would he be critical of TFA when right now the new films are producing the most new merch. I don't think you've thought this through, at all.

>>
>>89661861
>Wouldn't it help him more if it's an illegal invasion under Valorum?
No, because that makes the TF look like they're tying to make it a legit occupation, which Sheev can easily call bullshit on in the senate. Once Amidala shows up and he cons her into directly calling for a vote of no confidence, then the treaty isn't needed anymore.

>Why does Valorum send the Jedi to investigate the Naboo situation but then tell them that they're not of any use?
When does he say that?

>Why does Sheev tell Nute to kill the Jedi if they're there to report to the Senate how bad things are?
Because he knows that Jedi are more likely to snoop and possibly figure out what's going on, and worse, possibly put a stop to it. They were really close to getting to Nute and forcing his surrender, the only thing the stopped them was the arrival of the droidekas. Even then, their involvement almost causes the entire thing to unravel, but Sheev manages to improvise well enough that he still got what he wanted, even if it didn't happen the way he originally planned.

Making the first order into neo nazi's would probably be a lot more exciting than what we got. They feel a lot more like a bland update on the empire than an actual new entity.

I mean, the image of a skinhead is very different from the image of an actual Nazi. Making them into a bunch of overly inked up street gangs with chopped down imperial ships and crazy metal overtones would probably have been way more exciting.

The key is that the blockade starts out as dubiously legal. The Senate debates this endlessly. The Federation then invades, which itself is illegal. The Senate debates this as the Trade Federation's taking advantage of the Senate's apparent paralysis over a "simple trade dispute". By the time the Senate would hypothetically come to a resolution of the issue, the treaty legalizing the invasion would have been signed, making the Senate's bureaucratic incompetence complete. It would have shown that the Galactic Senate, the most august body in the known galaxy, was incapable of intervening in the affairs between a sovereign Republic world and a corporate entity.

> Why does Valorum send the Jedi to investigate the Naboo situation but then tell them that they're not of any use?

That literally never happened.

> Why does Sheev tell Nute to kill the Jedi if they're there to report to the Senate how bad things are?

Because the Jedi were never supposed to be there. Senate procedure demands Senate ambassadors, not Jedi. They were dispatched secretly past the scrutiny of the Senate, which the Chancellor heads and reports to. Because the bureaucratic system wasn't getting anything done, Valorum resorted to the Jedi, which also shows a lack of leadership in an apparent defiance of the system.

It would have been better had all this been laid out in the exposition on Coruscant, but it's all very much there and obvious if you know how to pay attention.
>>
Why does Phoenix Squadron have such a high attrition rate?

Every time their A-Wings show up, they're blasted to bits.
>>
So, what Clones were able to figure out Sheev's plan?
>>
>>89663777
A-wings are tricky beasts at the best of times, so placing them in the hands of every regular joe is asking for trouble

but without X-wings they are gonna have to tough it, since they had to send the Y-wings to dodonna, and they dont seem in the mood to canonize headhunters, although in the case of the latter you will still see high attrition

Should also say, that throughout the Prequels and TCW, the apparent theme for the Jedi is that they're gradually dragged into doing things which fall out of their traditional line of duties. This progressively gets worse as they're increasingly entangled into Senate affairs. Obi-Wan's arguments with Anakin in Padme's apartment are pretty clear about this.

>Obi-Wan Kenobi: We will not exceed our mandate, my young padawan learner.

>Anakin Skywalker: I meant that in the interest of protecting her, Master. Of course.

>Obi-Wan Kenobi: We will not go through this exercise again, Anakin, and you will pay attention to my lead.

>Anakin Skywalker: Why?

>Obi-Wan Kenobi: What?

>Anakin Skywalker: Why else do you think we were assigned to her if not to find the killer? Protection is a job for local security, not Jedi. It's overkill, Master. Investigation is implied in our mandate.

>Obi-Wan Kenobi: We will do exactly as the council has instructed.

It can be difficult to discern this kind of information if you're just looking to have dialogue forward the plot, but these seemingly mundane exchanges have expositionary importance.

Lost Stars was a pretty big indicator about how the image of Sheev doesn't match his reality.

In imperial propaganda, Sheev Palpatine has a full head of hair, very slight wrinkles, and always walks tall and with purpose, but keeps a cool composure and kind smile, like an idealized statesman and a father figure to the galaxy.

When Ciena actually saw the real man she had to immediately recognize he looked nothing like he was ever portrayed, and that his relationship with Vader was immediately visible as something beyond any military or civics protocol she was ever given. So you can only really tell Sheev was unusual is you got to see him personally, and might only guess he was ever similar to Vader if you saw the two of them together.

Most of the people who saw Sheev are presuably upper officers who died at some point, and anyone who saw both of them together definitley didn't live long by the implications that almost nobody with "grand" in their title was alive and loyal to the empire by Jakku.

>>
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Luke_Skywalker/Legends#Force_powers

>During the early days of the Dark Nest Crisis, Luke used the Force to generate a physical copy of the Jade Shadow to fool the attacking dartships.

> When UnuThul attempted to Force Push the Grand Master, Luke rooted himself with the Force so strongly that it was said that he had become the very essence of the immovable object, and that not even the black hole at the center of the galaxy could move him.

>During the Battle of Kashyyyk, Luke shut his presence down after being fired upon by Jaina to make it seem like he died. Later while Ben was in the Embrace of Pain, Jacen gave Ben back his ability to sense the Force temporarily and Ben felt the life force of his father and realized Luke was shutting himself down to everyone except Ben, something no other Jedi has been able to do.

>During the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar, Luke had shown himself capable of consciously reaching a state of Oneness. He was described as a maelstrom of luminous Force energy, against which there was no shelter. So calm and focused was he that his actions were not interrupted by any thought. Luke merged with the Force to such a degree that the Jedi Master did not seem to be there, physically or as an individual personality. Luke's control over his lightsaber blade was so great that he was said to might as well have been wielding ten, or twenty lightsabers against the Vong.

>Luke used a powerful and unique ability of the Force related to his signature green Electric Judgment in the chamber of Shimrra Jamaane. This technique had been described to look like "green sparks," which instantly killed the Slayers.

>After spending time with the Aing-Tii, Luke was taught the Fold space ability which allowed him to teleport objects vast distances.

>By 45 ABY, Luke had great resilience in Force duels, able to break a powerful Force grip on his neck, and take a full blast of Force lightning to the torso.

Why was EU Luke so ridiculously powerful?
>>
>>89664326

Pablo and the gang mentioned it on one of the youtube videos. It's not that X-Wings are super rare right now, it's that Organa is the leader Sato is working under and right now all Organa can get is A-Wings that haven't had their retrofits yet. The other members of the rebel council are presumably furnishing their cells with whatever else is on hand(I.E. Bibble is also on the council, and he's probably giving his rebels N-1's, Cham could only get ahold of old separatist fighters and burned most of those out way beforehand, which is why he only has).

Lost Stars mentions that before the war escalated there were plenty of X and Y wings in third party and civilian hands, but by the time Hoth rolled around the alliance had been buying almost all of both off the civilian market.

>>
>>89664571
>Plo's Bros
he loved that starfighter didn't he
>>
>>89664814

Two reasons:

The first is that the Galactic Civil War lasted over a decade of solid fighting in the EU and Luke was WAY more active then than he was now. He was still leading and involved with Rogue Squadron immediately post Endor and was fighting a far more hostile and larger Empire. I think he first fought one of Vaders secret apprentices almost immediately after he blew up the Death Star and Vader and the Emperor had so many dozens of them with their own unique hardware post Endor(unique capital ships, fighters, ect), that Luke more or less became absurdly experienced and well armed by the time the war formally ENDED. By the time Leia started having kids even surviving jedi from the old order essentially admitted Luke was way stronger than they ever were, and that was by like 10ABY, let alone 45.

The second reason is that the EU was way more liberal with how many jedi artifacts there were left over. Luke got an entire jedi library in Dark Empire, and a Holocron at the end of it. Then he got an entire academy's worth of stuff in Courtship. By the time he was actively training successful knights it wasn't a question of material to teach so much as having the time for every candidate and what rate they should get information at.

We have literal real world examples of what happens to a militant society that changes into something else: they turn into dens of degeneracy and beta bitches that exist at the behest of others, hollow shells of cultureless drones shambling from day to day with no identity that worship lolis and idols and 2D waifus. Even a Mandalore under Maul's control had more of a culture than Satine's dickless sham of a world. Death Watch was right to revolt against the destruction of their traditions, and Satine was right to be executed for betraying her honor and heritage out of fear of outsider's (read: Obi-Wan's) opinions.

so my guess is that they simply arent experienced enough to make the speed work for them, especially since in real life a fast lightly armed plane was only good in the hands of an ace as well

It's only in a single shot, when the troopers are inspecting the escape pod. Most people focus on the CG dewback being added to the scene, but the sentinel is there, apparently having dropped off the search team before taking off.

rise of the empire era-eu has got to be some of the most fun supplemental non-movie star wars fiction out there

I actually marathoned tcw before delving into the original timeline and the non-tcw stuff is simply superior and far more expansive. That isn't to say tcw is boring, but it really doesn't compare to the vast library it sometimes borrows from.

Anyone who unironically prefers TCW in it's entirety over pre-tcw clone wars is a homo with shit taste. If you like a bit of both or aspects of both for different reasons, I can respect that. I do too. I like some of the TCW tie-in novels and the comics are mostly all great. A lot of episodes are fine.

Do I come off as a butthurt mandofag? Maybe a little. Traviss did a great bulk of amazing work with the clones with the sci-fi angle and earned her respect in eu history, even if you take offense to her lotf stuff or gaylo.

The truth is though, I just enjoy being correct. There are so many concepts and characters that simply come off more interesting in the EU. And the best part is that the era begins before the clones are even introduced, there's a lot of nice shit in there. The books about valorum, plagueis, maul, all the comics. It's great.

realistically, TCW is definitely worth a marathon in chronological order for any fan familiar with the 2003 clone wars so they know where the inspiration comes from. I watched it having only seen the 2003 clone wars and came to love it for the most part. But if you really like star wars and enjoy that era, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't go back the comics and some of the novels after watching the 2008 series. Not only does it fill in some gaps and add some events, it also provides you with a complete timeline in itself minus the time with ahsoka. It has a completely different feeling compared to tcw since most of it was created closer to when the movies were coming out. Then you have the dark times stuff etc, I mean it'd be crazy to ignore it.

At any rate, these are early model A-Wings. In response to problems they actually striped out the armor, shields, and heavier guns to produce the fastest starfighter in the OT, one capable of outflying even the TIE Interceptor.

the irony goes deeper than that, I'm even a lucasfag

It's not that I don't care, I just like to look at things from different perspectives. You know, for example, I really like quinlan voss, but I understand why most clone troopers would think he's a dickhead.

I'm not sure what filoni loyalists get out of it though, I mean what's the catch? Are they just pedophiles?

How many here actually prefer the Inhibitor chip theory of Order 66? Tell me how is that exciting in any way? It strips clone troopers entirely out of their personality and turns them into droids. I understand if later batches of clone troopers would have this installed, you know as a late idea introduced into the game maybe with the centax or coruscant batches or whatever. I guess the inhibitor chip thing might be an easy way to foreshadow order 66 in a simply drawn tv series, but the EU foreshadowed palpatines plans in a much more scarier way. While I was reading the books it really made it feel like I haven't seen ROTS yet. It makes you feel like a genuine doomsday is about to happen, but you don't know what it is because in that version it doesn't make any effort to connect protocol 66 to whats about to go down. The looming conspiracy is larger than that, large amount of new ships being built in secret, credits disappearing, the gar being spread questionably thin etc. It's sick and feels far more grounded, turning it into a frightening, sprawling tinfoil hat conspiracy and not just a 2 hour hitchcock thriller.

Or what about that old crippled failed janitor clone from TCW? I mean what a silly idea. Why don't the kaminoans just delete him? Reconditioning clone troopers is not a problem for them, so they shouldn't let a failed product hang around as a janitor.
>>
>>89675802
>It strips clone troopers entirely out of their personality and turns them into droids
top kek

Traviss 10000% legit order 66 is completely dehumanizing to the clones, it means that they are organic droids who will always follow their programming.

Of course just by watching Ep 2 and 3 there is nothing wrong with that, but when you go deeper into media that show clones as people it is simply retarded.

Chips are the perfect solution.

That isn't a fetish Anon, that's just the nature of flying in a WWII/WWI setting for a faction that has less resources than late-war Germany and how Phoenix squadron is portrayed as is.

It was also all written in good fun. Don't take it too seriously.
>>
>>89676430
one good thing about allied fighters was that they had more forgiving weapons and were a lot tougher, more "noob-friendly"
this meant more trainees would survive to become experienced, creating an overall more veteran crew
>>
>>89663113
We barely know the first order honestly. The new trilogy is still under construction.
>>
>>89676477
Yeah it helps that companies like Grumman put survivability pretty high on their list. Adding to it was that they had way more pilots to put on rotation. Which is where the term Sunday Aces comes from I guess.

Which is also part of the reasons for the absurd victory numbers some german pilots managed to get. By the end of the war allied pilots simply had less targets to fight, while axis pilots had too many targets.
>>
>>89676519
I think it's fair enough to say we know them well enough to call them "Alt-Imperials", or Imperial by any other name. Not only do they derive from the Empire they pretty much only changed the name. Still Stormtroopers with a cosmetic change, still TIE fighters (classic, too!). Still using the wedge Star Destroyers, still subjugating the lessers, still trying to kill all the Jedi, still creating Death Stars by any other name.

Alt-Imperial would be the perfect joke if the actual movie didn't drive the point home to the point of being a self-parody.

>Traviss 10000% legit order 66 is completely dehumanizing to the clones, it means that they are organic droids who will always follow their programming.
But that's actually false

I read the books back-to-back + some tie-ins and it gives you a clear understanding of the why and how. The clones basically understand that the Jedi have tried to stage a coup on coruscant. They don't have the big picture, they may as well have been ordered to arrest the chancellor and it would have been an equally abstract to them. They way the clones are portrayed there, even though they can have actual camaraderie with their Jedi officers, it shows they have more going on inside their heads rather than just putting on a show that they give a shit about the republic. There's already that feeling of dread and anxiety in the air before Order 66. And it's not Palpatine using some kind of Sith manipulation, it's the fact that a lot of things about the war seem idiotic to the various clones in the GAR. They're constantly shown to openly question stuff. Eventually there are mixed feelings and concerns about their own future, Palpatine, the Jedi order, the media. They're all pretty well coming aware of the realities around them, but also becoming psychologically more alienated as it is. Some of them develop other plans or just the simple instinct to get the fuck out asap, hence some of the quiet desertion thing going on around the ranks. But leaving is hardly easy, most clones wouldn't dare dream of it due to a feeling of obligation towards their brothers. Not the grand army, but to the only friends they have. And not every clone has the same idea of civilian life, a lot of the more rank and file troopers have a very drab image of it in their mind. They're already taught on Kamino that they have it better than anyone else. Then you have clones like Bly, who've never even had the chance to visit Coruscant due to being deployed all the time. Every clone is actually very different.

In the Kanan comics when Depa and Caleb's troops turn they don't act all robotic, in fact they're pissed and genuinely think the Jedi are evil traitors until one snaps out of it and sacrifices himself to save them. A few others like Rex and his bros in Rebels had their chips pulled before Order 66 happened thanks to Fives trying to warn them.

I don't see Lulo surviving the Poe comic or TFA. Why didn't he show up, then, in TFA if he was such a big character for the last 30 years? He was there to help take down the second Death Star, he should have been there to taken down the "not-a-death-star" Starkiller.

>something disconnected from the whole story of the galaxy at large
that's been done numerous times in the old EU and it is not pleasant. There's the Han Solo Adventures wich are Holiday Special tier levels of insanity where Han Solo and Chewbacca and the Milennium Falcon explore an entirely different universe that has nothing in common with Star Wars whatsoever, there's the Lando Calrissian trilogy which is Lando Calrissian and the Milennium Falcon in the Warhammer 40K universe, and there's those awful Royal Guard (Crimson Empire?)comics which feel so totally detached from everything to do with Star Wars outside of some stormtrooper and TIE fighter cameos.

I get that changing things up a little from the Jedi+Rebel Commander protagonist hero's journey adventure saga could be welcome, but you gotta be real fucking careful about it.

Here's the thing, anon. We know through the comics and other sources that Mothma was at Yavin during the attack, and Ackbar, assuming he was in the rebellion already, was part of the fleet that wasn't close enough to join the battle at Scarif.

We don't have the same kind of information about any character in the TFA times yet. All we have is TFA and the Poe comic for that information. Bloodline establishes who is still alive 6 years prior, and Before the Awakening only focuses on Finn/Poe/Rey. Until we actually get more novels and comics and stuff concurrent to TFA, we can only guess as to why someone so close to the movie and so important to Poe as a character (L'ulo) didn't show up in it.

>>
>>89678580
Well if by "the story of the galaxy at large" you mean "The Galactic Civil War: Rebel Alliance characters fight Empire characters" then yeah it should be possible to have that merely be a background event that isn't really affecting the characters of your story, but then again Crimson Empire was actually about Imperials fighting Rebels but it was so fucking out there and irrelevant that you'd never give a shit anyway.

Personally I really like the Star Wars Bounty Hunter game with Jango Fett. That's the kind of thing I want.

Vader was such a secret that very few people even knew about him in the Empire. I highly doubt some kind of news source would be able to know of someone named Vader who dresses in all black. That source wouldn't know what a Sith is, most likely, or that Vader was one, or that he was apprenticed to the Emperor, who wasn't a force user to most of the galaxy.

He would have to either learn it through the force while on Tatooine, have someone that has seen/known about Vader to tell him in person (Maul being the only one that can, so far), or he would have to feel Anakin's presence in the force on the Death Star, which is the most likely scenario for old Ben.

Luke needs to locate something before KoR/ FO does.

Can't tell ANYONE, in case it is tortured out of them. Ben's favorite trick.

Asks LST to hang on to this thingie. When it vibrates, Luke found what he's looking for, but will have to stay and guard *it*.

Instructs LST to get thingie to Leia at that time, but DO NOT leave Jakku or the girl in the AT-AT, he'll personally come pick him and her up afterward.

Gives R2 map, instructions to go into droid coma; to power up when sends signal. Tells Leia to bring the fleet to his location at this time.

Drops inactive R2 with Leia, says to keep him out of harm's way. Apologizes for Ben, tells her he has to leave but can't tell her to where, so as not to endanger anyone else. Hopefully he'll find what he needs before shit gets really bad.

Finds what he needs at ancient temple. Activates LST's thingie. "Oh, it's part of a map! Leia must have the other part!"

Luke waits enough time for a pilot to fly from D'qar to Jakku and back, map analysis, assembly of the fleet before signalling R2.

Luke's plan doesn't, go quite as expected, shit goes bad, people die.

Luke sees the first ship arrive! The Falcon! Perhaps he didn't sense Han die..

The girl from Jakku! "I didn't want her anywhere near this place yet. Han's dead, LST's dead, Leia couldn't bring the fleet. Wait... is that dad's lightsaber? Wtf? I hope she brought some cookies, this is gonna be rough."

The Emperor being the Dark Lord of The Sith was a secret that only three members of his inner circle were aware of. The rest of said inner circle only even suspected that he was Force sensitive. The rest of the galaxy (that wasn't the Rebellion) only knew of him as either an old man, or the hero who ended the Clone War. Sheev did right by keeping his true identity a secret. The galactic general population would not react well to knowing that their Emperor is a monster from galactic legend.

Vader probably demanded it to be found. Probably kept it at his castle til he died.

I wouldn't mind things like the TCW movie being included into anthology stuff, or Rebels season openers and finales being extended into full length mvoies, something like that. TCW shows that it can work, but it needs a delicate touch. What we definitely don't need though is more Rogue One. Thematically that is, we can have plenty more battle scenes in movies, but we probably shouldn't have something of such import and total decimation. Rogue Squadron: A Star Wars story might be good perhaps, following the pilots during the war, like Red Tails or Flying Tigers or The Battle of Britain, or 633 Squadron or any of those types of movie.

you guys are kind of missing the point

instead of some trance making them think that they were doing the right thing, it is a million times more fair to the developed characters for them to consciously execute that order. Just denying all responsibility by having it be a trance induced action shows that they can essentially be turned into human droids with the flip of a switch and which in return, shows us they're not really the perfectly disiplined soldiers they're cracked up to be.

Every clone is fully capable of independence given the chance. A perfect example are some of the whitejobs who become crosstrained as commandos.

>I stopped playing after Halo 4. The series just kept moving away from what made Halo good.
Same.

I've heard that Halo 5 has good multiplayer and a near-perfect Forge mode, but everything I've heard about the campaign is absolute shit.

I'll stick to the Bungie games and Halo Wars. Halo Wars 2 looks good so I'll play it and see if it's good.

The blu-ray change in ROTJ is the worst. Way to ruin the most pivotal moment of the movie.

Yeah, I tried Halo 5 mp at a friends place. It was pretty fun. I still don't like that they include sprint though.

Looking to get into more star wars comics.

I'm not super fond of the new republic Era stuff, but I did kind of like the Crimson empire comic. Might get the others.

Has anyone read the old Republic comics or graphic novels? (I forget which it was). Would definitely be interested in those if they're good
