The only reason they made Snugglepuss was through the most shallow, superficial aspects imaginable in an age where it's actually possible to create new gay characters with actual personalities. I mean look at Midnighter for fucks sake.

And of course, /co/ is lining up to suck Russel's dick because because he wrote the Flinstones, completely ignoring why it worked in the first place. It worked because it took itself seriously while keeping the core of the show(which is inherently satirical). It was a deconstruction and it worked.

Snugglepuss on the other hand, is in and lose-lose situation because it's simply not doing that. Just making him gay is insulting and stupid, and has the same line of thinking as Marcie and Patty from Peanut's being dykes solely because of appearance. If they change his personality, then it just begs the question of why they even did this to begin with.

The chances of this being anything but ands trainwreck is minimal. I don't trust comic writers anymore, not after Waid's Champions.
