Let's all take a moment to fondly remember Star ̶s̶h̶i̶f̶t̶slip Crisis.
I'm bored, this evening, so I'm going to keep posting strips until the conclusion of Overdrive our until I lose interest - whichever comes first.

Man, I miss the days when Straub actually put out comics regularly. Broodhollow has a lot of potential, but it never updated frequently and is on indefinite hiatus now. Seems like Kris is having some depression issues.

>My species can't comprehend art
I love how this becomes a gigantic plot point years later.
This particular story benefits from some familiarity with Straub's earlier comic, Checkerboard Nightmare, but it's not required.

This is a good idea. This is going to work out great for everyone.
What a sudden and unexpected turn of events!
Fun fact! The Fuseli that was destroyed was the Starshift Crisis version - everything was retroactively changed to Starslip Crisis from this point, on.

Can we mourn Broodhollow while we're here?
Which, let's be honest, was actually a pretty clever way of rebranding the comic.

I wish he hadn't ended Starslip when he did. I know that all of the groundwork was there, already, but the way the final arc played out really felt like a "break glass to end comic" sort of resolution, taking a previously established escape hatch to the final showdown.

Literally the only people with taste on /co/ right now.

I don't know. It was a great strip, and I still love it, but I'm glad it ended eventually. I used to follow a bunch of heavy plot based daily comics, like Schlock Mercenary and Sluggy Freelance. Eventually, it became too much, and I had to drop them. Decades of new characters, plot devices, alternate dimensions and timelines, etc.... made it impossible for me to keep up with their stories.
I like that I got a definitive ending for Starslip, and that the creator moved onto another project. I hate that that other project is on hiatus, but all the more reason I'm happy Starslip ended when it did, and that it's not Starslip on hiatus, never to be finished.

Eh, I just happy that it got a satisfying conclusion. Too many webcomics (and TV shows) feel the need to continue indefinitely - well past the point that they're fun, exciting, or interesting anymore.

Amen to that

Beginning with Other Selves, the "break glass to end comic" moment, Starslip runs for another six months before its conclusion.

Agreed. My attention span isn't that great, and there's no way I can consume something with over 6000 comics. It just gets boring after the first few thousand, no matter how much I like it. Not unless they're all mostly self contained jokes like Dilbert or something.
