/co/, I need your help. Usually, this would be a task for /wsr/, but this task calls for your expertise specifically.

I'm furiously looking for a certain comic book I've read back in 2007, here are the things I do recall:

- it was published in the early 2000s, no later than 2006.
- it was a hardcover, one of several volumes of the story.
- I can't recall the name or the exact synopsis. I have a hunch that the name contained something about the Nibelungs (at least the story definitely did).
- it was not the Ring of Nibelung.
- the story was set in present, about a detective or a government agent that was solving some sort of mystery at a government site.

I can't recall anything more specific. Only that at some point, the protagonist met a black cat that looked like a Nebelung breed.

Any help would be much obliged, you are my only hope.

also, this is a "describe a comic book vaguely, let others guess" thread.

I started reading this and got sidetracked.

Yeah, been there too when I searched for the comic book. It was actually Wagner's Valkyrie opera what made me recall and desire the book.

One more detail I remember - it was probably R rated, profanities were not censored.

Also, I think that at some point, the story revolved around burnt remains of an unknown creature/human, which later... I think either disappeared or regenerated.
