>Bad People Don't Deserve No Love....
Virginia Applejack takes the stage.
Finishing up her high school challenges,
And then into an all new world of criminality,
From hijinks into a a frightening land full of killers.
This is-
David Lapham's Stray Bullets Thread #6
First, a little prologue from "Noir"
It wasn't collected in the Hijinks and Derring-Do trade
You're cool.
Stray Bullets is cool.
In a just universe Lapham would be where Bendis is now (if he wanted to).

In a just universe Lapham would have enough money to just do Stray Bullets.
I think after Sunshine and Roses he might have to go back and do some more for-hire stuff.
It's lagging hard.
And here we go...
And so ended Hijinks & Derring-Do
Now onto Killers, which is just when Image started releasing each arc as its own mini.
In retrospect though, I think that Killers is an Orson and Beth story.
Just...Bizarro style.
A Finger classic

bump. I need to re-read Killers.

>bizzaro Beth/Orson story
that may be why I have a hard time differentiating it from Hijinks (and Dark Days kind of) in my mind.

Possibly.
I think that there was this long stretch of time that Virginia was the front and center of Stray Bullets...Killers feels like an attempt to bring that dynamic back in a new way.

I'm not the biggest fan of teen Virgina either.

>I like to think of myself as more fucked up than evil
The line between damaged and evil is "adolescence." Young ginny was a confused child and her stories benefited from it. Teen virginia is just a disaster with a gravitational pull.

Yeah, which honestly makes her the perfect counterpoint to where Orson is usually at...like Eli is sort of a more Beth like attitude in this.
Also I'm waaayyyyy burned-out on comic creators getting self-indulgent and talking about making their comics IN their comics. There was a moment when I was afraid the story was going to turn in to "This is David making a comic book about this damaged girl named Ginny he grew up with" and I don't know If I've recovered from that. I tend to just read for the violent men now (Monster, Finger, etc).

Actually, by Lapham's own admission...he's more like Orson and Beth in terms of his own personality. Ginny might also be focused on stuff that has happened to him, sure.
In fact, that's why I think Orson (and his Amy Racecar counterpart) keeps coming back.
>>89506613
I can definitely see the Orson connection. Do you have links to any interviews or anything? I haven't really looked in to any of that...
>>89506658
I think it was either in a small thing he wrote for the intro to Killers or an interview for Sunshine/Roses...might have even been for Young Liars - (because like I said that series is an exaggerated Orson/Beth affair too).

>With Sunshine & Roses there’s definitely an arc to it, and actually I thought it was going to be just one arc but it’s actually going to be two that connect in the time period it’s taking place in.
Boy I hope we're in arc two right now. At issue 20 I can't imagine how we're not.

Well, I think that if we think it'll be even the last issue will be #26.
I hope #25 is the end though.
Also, new thread just finished
