What is his best work? Obviously Ren & Stimpy is his finest creation and the best project he was involved in, but of all the artwork and animation produced for that show exactly which parts did was he responsible for? I've seen layouts attributed to certain artists like Jim Smith and Bob Camp but not John.
And what artwork of his exists from before then, e.g. the crappy 80s cartoons he has talked so much about? I'm not doubting his skill but of all the layouts he's shown on his blog from artists who worked on R&S I've never seen him showcase his own.

Honestly his best work as an artist was as a voice actor. He really sold genuine mania in Ren's character in a way few people can pull off without coming off like cringy leto joker types.

I said the same thing about that George Liquor short he's been making for 5 years. The animation and story are nothing special but his George Liquor voice is damn impressive, especially considering it wasn't originally his voice.

I agree, but Billy West voiced his most manic outbursts, even during Seasons 1 and 2.
But goddamn is his "What I'm gonna do to you" ramble fucking haunting. You can almost hear a guiltiness.
