Thoughts on Kirby's "The Demon"?It was unfortunately the only piece during his stint in DC that I could get into, even though I tried so very hard to like OMAC as a fan of Kirby's Cap run
How can you like the Demon but not Kamandi, Mister Miracle or New Gods?

Just not my cup of tea I guess? And plus, sorcery/magic has always been DC's strong suit

I like/love pretty much all of Kirby's DC work. I especially like the opening story from the demon.
Which of the Cap runs do you dig, anon? I like Tales of Suspense, but Madbomb is more my jam.

I really liked Tales and Volume 1 up until Kirby originally left in ish 109. Those Cap WWII stories are brilliant

It says a lot about his ability that he could craft such a great comic when he wasn't even passionate about the idea of doing it.

Did you ever read Fighting American?
>>89486625
The same could be said for X-Men
>>89486666
The original or the Liefeld version? Because I've read neither
>>89487798
Original, it was one of the first creator-owned comics and was kind of Simon & Kirby's follow-up to the WWII stuff pre-Marvel.

>follow-up to the WWII stuff pre-Marvel.
I think it was when Marvel fired Simon&Kirby, funny story it was because of Stan Lee, so they just made a NOT Captain America.
Bumping for actual comic discussion.
Is the new god stuff as good as everybody says it is and if so where does one start?

son you gotta try Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen. Straight kino.
It's great.

>where does one start?
Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen is where Kibry launches all the New God stuff
Then you have the three comics; Mister Miracle, The Forever People, and The New Gods. Once that's all over The Hunger Gods is the finale
