The security risk was always questionable. Why do they care if people know about the Death Star? They're going to unveil it soon enough to bring "swift end" to the Rebellion. Krennic may see it as a threat since there is an active Rebel presence on the planet (even if Saw's group aren't really embraced by the rest of the Alliance, a fact we don't know the Empire is aware of) but Tarkin merely sees it as a means to discredit Krennic. An old score just waiting to be settled, left from the novel Catalyst.

Tarkin clearly isn't worried about the leak even before the test. He just wants the weapon and then he can assume command. Krennic finally gets it to work while all his failures to date have piled up and now Galen, Tarkin believes, is the final nail in the coffin. You'll note despite Tarkin being aware of Eadu as the leak he didn't take care of it himself. He wants Krennic to stew in his failures which Tarkin can present to the Emperor.

This. This is why destroying the Sith brought balance to the force. The Empire was only ever a tool to create pain, suffering and death in unnatural amounts. If Sidious and Vader suddenly died and the rebellion never happened, the Empire would just become less tyrannical over time because those who would come into power (lets say Tarkin) would actually try to ensure that it isn't a failed stat and would probably not just use it to be a deliberate evil piece of shit. Hence why Thanoth thought Sheev was losing his edge and going feeble minded or someshit. Sheev didn't lose his edge.
