Tigra's ICONS mini was good. Some of her West Coast stuff, her early appearances are okay, but for the most part no one knows what to do with her.

She went feral got shrunk down, then disappeared. Then to bring her back, they revealed that she had escaped, was mauled by a dog, then adopted by a crazy cat lady who thought she was just a weird looking cat, then got healed and sent back by one of the cat people.

The skrull baby, the Hood gang abuse, one horrible idea pitched out after another.

I refuse to believe that Tigra has trouble landing dates.

1) she might only be a C-lister in a world where superheroes are celebrities but does anyone think that Karen Gillan or Anna Kendrick have problems landing dates?

2) there are furries in the *real* world, can you imagine how much more emboldened they are in a superhero world where anthropomorphic animals actually exist?

3) she is hot as hell, fur or no, and walks around in a bikini all the time. even non-furries have something to like here. besides, I get the sense her fur is very fine and very short, it has to be for her curves to be that well-defined under it, as far as "fur" goes she is closer to a really strong case of body fuzz or peach fuzz or whatever its called. Has there ever been a hero as useless and unsuccessful as Tigra?

Think about it.

She starts as The Cat, then gets shot and almost killed by normal mooks. Dr. Tumolo has to transform her into Tigra to save her life. That's The Cat.

Then in Marvel Chillers she fails to save Dr. Tumolo from getting shot to death, gets her ass beat by the Super Skrull and captured, and has to be saved by Red Wolf. RED WOLF. When your first mini ends in you getting rescued by a D-lister its time to tap out.

But wait you might say. She also defeated Kraven in Marvel Chillers and Kraven is a big deal. Everyone knows how OP he is. But in Marvel Team-Up Kraven beats her, captures her, brain washes her, and makes her his pet complete with collar and she has to be rescued by Spider-Man. Then he kicks her ass twice more in West Coast Avengers with the moral of the story being "Tigra don't try fighting bad guys one on one you suck at it and will just get killed".

Then after Marvel Chillers she joins the Avengers and is shown to be a giant flighty womanchild. Molecule Man makes her surrender and become her pet (the second time a bad guy has thoroughly dominated her, complete with collar). After the experience she quits the Avengers by saying that they're all out of her league.

Has any other hero ever done just quit a superhero team by saying they suck too much to keep up with everyone? Tigra has.

Next she joins the West Coast Avengers or Hawkeye's Home for Lesser Heroes. Graviton beats her, collars her, and not only makes her his collared pet like Molecule Man and Kraven but makes her admit she has deep primal desire to submit to him.

Kraven mind controlled her. Molecule Man made her beg. And then Graviton made her beg TO beg. There's a progression of Tigra's humiliation at the hands of bad guys.

And then she gets an arc that promises that Tigra has finally balanced her animal and human sides and that with this balancing comes more power-and a tail!

Except not really.

Then she's a teacher for Avengers Academy. Because if you can't do you teach and Tigra's history shows she can't do shit. She's such a bad teacher that a chunk of her students don't live to see 21 which qualifies her to teach at Xavier's I think.

Why they got someone who quit the Avengers for sucking to teach kid Avengers I have no fucking idea. They really should have seen the kids jobbing to Arcade from a mile away.

I always thought of including her in Moon Knight would be interesting. They have some history together in West Coast Avengers and thematically they were both "horror heroes" that evolved into super heroes.

They're both psychologically fucked in different ways and they both deal with mystic shit. To make Tigra sync more with Moon Knight you could have the alchemist created Cat People be followers of Bast or something and tie her mood swings and shifting characterization into his own mood swings and shifting characterizations caused by Khonsu being in his brain. It was implied that part of Moon Knight's schizo-ness was because Khonsu and other gods like him are naturally schizo and like the moon has phases with their different aspects.

Tigra being connected to Isis means she has phases of her own.

Hunter of evil in the shadows (Marvel Chillers era Tigra): Bast in her aspect as hunter of vermin (and the name of her first foes as Tigra? The Rat Pack)

I don't see her hitting all the "phases" beyond learning that they happen to her and that she's connected to Bast, which will help give her some closure to her past problems along with bonding with Marc over being mystic horror heroes with lots of issues.

I agree that making her a supernatural hunter, getting her back to the roots she shares with Moon Knight, is the main thing that needs to happen.

I almost want to have the two of them meet up with Blade, but I don't want his star power to overwhelm their book. He should show up for a few issues though. Having Marc and Greer fight vampires is something that should have happened but hasn't.

I'm hoping grafting her onto Moon Knight's mythology would make both their personal mythologies richer. I would want to do something with the Cat People, not just sweep them under a rug. The Bast stuff would expand on the "made my alchemist" origin, not replace it. And it sort of makes sense. The Cat People were isolated to another plane by Western alchemists. It makes sense they would try tapping into the same sort of magics (Egyptian magic is big in Western magical tradition) to try and create a champion.
