They're both proper kings for their proper universes.

Namor is definitely what the Marvel universe needs since there is constantly the threat of annihilation, they need someone who will make that horrific decision that will save the entire planet.

Because DC doesn't have events every few months and isn't under threat of total destruction all the time, Aquaman's biggest problem is trying to get Atlantis to be a part of the global community.
