Yes. Watch it again and picture in your mind the sword as a bo staff. It really does work. Robin doesn't hold the sword like a katana with the hilt facing his body. The hilt is almost always facing outwards so if you replace it with a bo staff the length won't be a hindrance.

The game doesn't have that much input delay.

It's more of a combination of wonky input buffers, and oddly deceptively long animations, and a lot of recovery on everything you do.

Like as an example, a lot of the times you would go and do a dash or finish a move, and you push a button thinking you are in nuetral, but you are actually still in recovery, and it doesn't register your input.

You basically just kinda have to practice a shit ton and get muscle memory down so you know when to hit buttons.

It's clunky as all hell.
