one of my favorite shows as a kid, but it got stupid when they got their "signature weapons" that weren't even Shen-Gong-Wu. Like Omi got this ice staff and Kimiko had these gay shuriken things, and then they just used them all the time instead of anything else. I didn't mind Chase Young at the time, I thought he was badass, but the last season was a mess.

Different anon but the original plans for season 3 were scrapped due to executive meddling. That's why the final episode of the Chase Young arc sucked because they had to completely rewrite it. Hannibal Bean was actually a joke pitch the writers came up with in frustration that the executives ended up liking so they were forced to go with it.

Chase didn't feel like a natural progression of the show. They also kicked the former big-bad to the curb and depowered her by Chase's hand, meanwhile making the extremely likable character Jack Spicer completely into a joke (though he was always comic relief to some degree). It always sucks when a fun villain is turned into a joke just so you can have another, bigger, badder villain. And Chase felt so forced.

Series always felt constrained, like it wanted to have more of an ongoing plot but couldn't resist the usual reset button stuff. It took off a bit at the end but maybe that's because it was ending and they had nothing to lose. Kind of a bunch of wasted potential.
